Excellent creative Italian/seafood

Over several days in Boston I ate many nice meals, including at 49 Social, Marliave, Neptune Oyster, and Lo Conte, and start-to-finish, Teatro was the best of the bunch. A very attractive, intimate space, with creative dishes inspired by traditional Italian fare.

A truly lovely interior and they were accommodating to us when we asked if we could move to a different table. I had the beet salad (yum) and spinach ravioli (yum again). We had a nice bottle of wine and it was quite affordable with good service. The wait staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The food was phenomenal and definitely get the antipasto. The service wasn't very good, however. The hostess knew more than our waiter.

Arriving at 3:45 for a 4pm post-theatre dinner reservation, we were asked to wait for 10 minutes at the bar, with kids. We picked it for the nice contemporary Italian menu, and enjoyed the very good antipasti--calamari, verdure were delicious. No kid options except plain pasta & fancy pizza. Service was competent and brisk. Ambiance was hip and pleasant but... More

I learned about this restaurant from two different coworkers. When they heard I was going to a show they suggested making reservations here first. Last night we dined at Teatro before going to see Beauty and the Beast at the Boston Opera House. Our reservations were for 6pm and our show started at 8pm. The timing was perfect. Dinner did... My wife and I dined here early Jan and had a wonderful meal. The food was excellent, the staff friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere lively but not loud. It is on Tremont across the street from the Common so convenient to the T and by walking if you are staying downtown.

The concierge from our hotel recommended us this restaurant, because we hadn't found anything for Christmas Eve, yet. Inside the restaurant it looks really like a theater and the location is very fine. The food is delicious as, well! For this special occasion, we took a starter, main course and desert and we hadn't been disappointed. It's a bit dearer... More

The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was modern and fun! However, you are squeezed in side-by-side and can hear the group/couple talking next to you. I think going on a week night or earlier in the evening would be better (we went around 6:30pm on a Friday)

I was in town for my company annual meeting, and had a free night. My husband joined me and we went on a Thursday night. Our server Kaitlyn was excellent! She was professional, knowledgeable and very pleasant. Thank you for the suggestions! My butternut squash tortollini was one of the best pasta dishes I've had in a long time. And... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
