We had a fantastic meal with an excellent server who really made the night. Dean C. was extremely helpful and professional. To begin, I enjoyed one of the signature cocktails while my husband had a Stoli martini. We really enjoyed the duck dish with creamy polenta, wild mushrooms, and I believe Marsala, as well as the beef and fois gras... More

Teatro is not located in the North End, but don't let that keep you from enjoying some of the best Italian food you will have in the US. The atmosphere is buzzing and on a Friday night at 9pm, it was crowded. Absolutely everything we put in our mouths was delicious, but the two standouts were the octopus with white... More

Excellent option before a show. Interesting options for both the small and large appetite. Food was very good, wine pour was generous, service was very attentive.

My husband and I dined at Teatro with 2 other couples on a recent Saturday evening. We had a reservation at 8pm and only had to wait a few minutes for them to finish setting our table. Once we were seated we waited quite a while for our waiter to greet us. He gave us an extensive wine list that... More

Great service, food. Wine recommendations! Suggest a side table. Good vegetarian options. Appetizers are large - suggest sharing.

We had dinner on Sunday, Jan. 29th with an early reservation at 4:00 pm. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive. We started with their two antipasto appetizers. If you can't decide on which pasta dish to order they offer half portions so you can try both!

As with every meal I've had here, the food was excellent. The linguine with shrimp was divine. Service, however, was unprofessional. The server didn't know what one of the ingredients in a cocktail was, but wouldn't admit this. Instead, gave some garbled answer. He took away our bread plates just as the bread arrived because our starter arrived at the... More

Recently out in Boston for our anniversary and wished for a good, smallish, Italian restaurant...and discovered Teatro...housed in a former synagogue...neat venue, extraordinary service and food. Everything was beautifully presented, attentively served, upbeat waitpersons, took really god care of us. Look forward to returning soon.

A high-end Italian restaurant located just across the street from Boston Common on Tremont and just around the corner from the Opera House. We chose this spot for dinner before attending a Broadway musical at the opera house in large part due to its location. We were even more pleased by the outstanding service and fresh inventive menu and beautiful... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
