Recently sat at the small downstairs bar for dinner with a friend. This was the third time I've been to Grill 23 and was hoping for better results than the past two visits. Disclaimer, this most recent visit was during restaurant week (other two were not). I got the pork belly app. It came with two uncooked pieces of peach... More

Very hesitant to go to this place upon the recommendation of a friend ( i'm a vegetarian) since i was not sure i could find something suitable for me. Easily made an online reservation and went in praying for the best. The host was very polite as well as the hostess that led us to our table. The place is... More

I enjoyed the old school charm of this restaurant. The staff were extremely attentive, exceptional service and delicious food. The pork belly appetizer was fabulous, the steak cooked to perfection and salmon was delicious. I did notice, however, that other than two front desk hostesses all other employees in view were male. It was really bizarre!

We recently celebrated our son's birthday there and we couldn't have been happier with the food and service. Our steaks were perfectly cooked and tasty. The sides were delicious - the Mac and cheese is excellent! They are large sides so keep that in mind when ordering. Four sides for eight people was plentiful. A very elegant restaurant for special... More

Went here for the first time with a friend. Pleasantly surprised we showed up at the beginning of the second week of restaurant week. Had the flank steak and was delicious. Cooked to perfection of medium-rare. Lovely dinner. I will be back and bring family!

Dined here 8/20/2016 while in Boston. The food is excellent. We had Fillet Mignon large portion 10 ounces, cooked to perfection $49.00 and very tender. The best I have ever had. This only comes with caramelized onions. The sides are extra ranging from $9.00-15.00 each, but 2 people could share 1 side. The macaroni and cheese is to die for. They also have a very extensive... More

We came here twice for drinks, because we didn't like the bar at our hotel. Bar was beautiful with plenty of seating. Staff was friendly and bartender knew how to make a martini! Will be coming here next time for dinner when we're in town.

Classic steakhouse. Huge but good vibe and very full. Fantastic (and big) wine list. Great quality of meat. Good choices of sides. OK on the sauces - was hoping for more. Good but expensive drinks from the bar. But overall really solid.

Grill 23 has it all....great atmosphere, excellent service and wonderful food!! As most good steakhouses, the food is very expensive; nevertheless, I had one of the best filet mignons I ever had in my life. Our waiter was attentive, funny and helpful. I have celiacs and was thrilled to see that the restaurant had a gluten free menu. The maitre'd... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
