I was a bit leery that this restaurant was overhyped, but was truly blown away by the service and the quality of the food. My in laws wanted to treat their grand kids to a special meal and this was very special. We were immediately seated when we arrived for our reservation. Our server was attentive without being overbearing. My... More

Restaurant was very busy but I was disappointed as I had wanted a nice quality meal. Instead the meat ordered was not cooked properly and no server was to be found to rectify it. Overall I was disappointed with the sevice and quality for the price I was paying. I enjoy fine establishments but expect quality device and cuisine with... More

Wanted a great steak but didn't want to go to one of the chain restaurants. Found this one off Boston Steakhouse and decided to give it a try. Really glad we did because the food and drinks were amazing. Great Martini to start off followed by a salad and the duck confit with scallion pancakes. Then my wife had steak... More

Dined on a Friday evening on the 4th of July weekend. Went in at 8:30, no waiting, seated immediately. Had the seafood chowder, 100 day ribeye, and the fresh peas. Everything was very good. As with most steak houses, the sides were enough to share (peas, I maybe ate 1/3 of them). Excellent wine list. Great service.

We were sat upstairs at a small table for 2 amongst other couples. The New York Strip and Halibut we ordered were both delicious as were the asparagus and tater tots we ordered as an appetizer. The service was absolutely wonderful, from the hostess all the way to the person who brought our bottle of wine out and perfectly described... More

Clam chowder was not the New England classic nor was it an innovative twist that was good reason for the deviation- it was not impressive. I've had better skirt steak at a beach party. The sauteed spinach was inedible-how do you wreck something so pure and simple? Only the bread was commendable. NEVER AGAIN! Overpriced outfit.

Clam Chowder is fantastic. Lobster is very good and as it goes for the meet its just perfect. All the sides we tried were very good, spinach and mashed potatos... Service is very good. Bread is also very good. Wine selection is huge and not too expensive; deserts are small size and very good specially the chocolate cake and the... More

We went there in group of 14 people, and service was amazing. Food was on time, glasses always filled with wine. Food itself is tasty, tastes even better with good wine available there

When we lived in Boston nearly 20 years ago this restaurant was one of the best and was the one that you could always find the top business people at. We decided to see if it was as good as it was and it was the same as it was then but was not as good as the others we... More

We had dinner at Grill 23 while on a short trip to Boston. We were told that this was one of Boston's best restaurants and were glad we took the advice to go. It is not part of a chain and is a one of a kind place. The atmosphere is great - formal to an extent, but still relaxed... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
