It is a good uptown grill / steak house. Good service, good food nice music. All done pretty well. Nothing unique though. I went there with a group of business colleagues. It was a fun evening. Making reservations would be a good thing here as the place is pretty popular.

Came here with group of business friends for dinner. This place is good but not in same league as Ruth's Chris or Mortons even though its pricing is. I ordered a filet mignon that was prepared well (medium rare) but, could tell it's not the same grade of beef that a Ruth's Chris or Mortons filet. Service is good. One... More

Last night my daughter and I dined at the Grill 23 and Bar in Boston. From the moment we arrived we were so well looked after. As we waited a couple of seconds to be seated, we could sense it was a very special restaurant. The place was buzzing with chatter and laughter with most tables occupied. Chris was our... More

Ask for Tim our amazing server who will tell you anything you want to know about aged steaks! What a connesuire and a gentleman! I had the 14 ounce New York Sirloin! The first bite burst in my mouth and I didn't even want to chew it! I ordered two sides: roasted Brussel sprouts and grapes in a vinaigrette so... More

High end steak experience. Huge multi story property with all what you'd expect from a restaurant of that caliber. Excellent service & decent food. 2 negative comments that I have: 1. Side orders & $13 needs to be worked on. 2. If it's a slow night & I call to reserve for 2 at the last minute, give me the... More

I routinely go to Grill 23 & Bar and can honestly say that I've never had bad or even marginal anything there! I sit at the bar most often with Kevin and Crew who are always on their game. There is a bar menu but the full menu is also available. You won't have a better steak if you order... More

Grill 23 is a steak house. It has been a Boston landmark for many years. The steaks are great and if you are not a steak eater, there are options such as lamb chops and fish (tuna, salmon, cod). Appetizers are plentiful and sides for the a la carte menu are also really good and varied. The prices are high-... More

This restaurant has seen better days. Living off it's past reputation. Eight people to dinner last night. You know you may have an impending problem when you are served a crab cake comprised of "shredded" crab meat ( $21.00 ). Not in New England!! The steaks ( total overpriced ) were average at best. Yes, this is more of a... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
