Located at the top of Charles Street, close to Mass General. We were standing in front looking in the window when a passerby just commented: "It's excellent".
Food was very good. Thai rolls came out hot and crispy. Pad Thai was tasty and not gluey as it often is. Kai Pad was described as "hot", but it was mild. Overall very good Thai food that I would be happy with for take out on any day.
Décor is nothing special and service is just there to take your order and bring your food.

The King and I is a quite small, but very nice Thai restaurant near the Mass General Hospital. The menu is extensive. The soups, appetizers, and entrees were all quite tasty with very fresh ingredients. The selection of Thai beer was very nice and served very chilled. The staff were very friendly and service was very good. From the number of people in the restaurant and the quantity of take out orders, it is evident that this is a popular spot. The prices were very reasonable with excellent value for money.
Unfortunately, for me, a somewhat significant negative was that the dishes were very mild. We ordered dishes which were listed as the spiciest on the menu and the heat was extremely mild to non-existent. Perhaps the chefs could have adjusted the heat.........we did not enquire. But restaurant was so good that I will return with this request when ordering.

Called ahead to see if dine in allowed. Female who answered said that they'd set a table for two. Never asked for a name so figured a Sunday night at 6:30 was slow enough that a name wasn't needed. Arrived to a sign saying take out only and all chairs stacked on tables. SO, placed a takeout order. Menu sounded fantastic. Disappointed that food had almost no flavor. C'mon bland Thai food??!! Seemed busy on phone while we waited for the takeout. Packaging was good?! Coconut soup, bland. Seafood bland. Disappointed. Price, however, was reasonable.

Avoid this place at all costs. Poor food, horrible customer service. The order arrived spilling out of its containers, leaving just about half of the curry in each container.
We called the extremely rude woman manning the phone, right after our order was placed, to add additional rice, to which she said she could not. So we went through GrubHub to add to the order and then called again to confirm that they received the additional order. At which point, she rudely said yes and hung up. Shocker--food arrived with no additional rice that we paid for and when I called to speak with them about it, they hung up on me...twice, because the first time I thought we just got prematurely disconnected. The second time they added that it 'wasn't their problem' and I learned we most definitely did not 'accidentally' get disconnected. I was going to try to order more rice and come pick it up, but with that kind of service, why waste my time or money.
Food was far from special. Save yourself the trouble of dealing with them and their sub par Thai food. There are so many better spots to try in Boston! I would recommend Rod Family Thai, whose food and service is always on point.

Not even a good take on standard dishes. It seemed as if they had made all the ingredients separately and then put them together according to the order so there was no blending of the flavors (and very few flavors) - also very little sauce - the food was dry - very unexpected in Thai food. We certainly won't be back.

Great little spot for a wide variety of authentic Thai food. Tables were well spaced and staff was very friendly. Recommend the seafood royale and mango chicken curry and bbq pork ribs. It was recommended to us by a guy working at the CVS nearby, otherwise we would have missed it. Lots of to-go orders but we were yet only ones seated at a table. Felt safe and clean.

Tamarind duck and seafood salad appetizer today. First time had green papaya salad and shrimp pad Thai. ALL of these dishes were great. The Thai ice tea was one of best ever. Fast service and very polite. Small place close to MA Gen/Charles St T. No wait for seating.

Extremely poor service. The manager at the counter at best was rude. This is the first time I ordered and placed it online. No where does it say that white rice is not included with your order. I explained to her my mistake and offered to pay for the rice but she was extremely rude saying I should have known. She refused my credit card and asked me to Venmo. Her Venmo didn’t work so she then asked for my card. Not a single thank you, just the look of disgust on her face.
I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE.

I have been going here for 30 years! I found this place as a college student and make it a point to come back yearly, when in Boston or not. The food is still as good as it was then.
