We came expressly from back bay recommended by a friend. When we arrived it was 9 pm and an arrogant waiter said they had closed. He turned his back at us and didn't even apologise. The signal on the door said they closed at 10pm. Deceived since we wanted to try the food, all the other restaurants in the area were... More

Mother Anna's is without a doubt the best Italian restaurant in Boston. Can't wait to come back. It was amazing!

Stopped here on a hot Sunday - nice welcome, great service and lovely food. Paid the check by credit card, but only afterwards noticed a $8+ dollar discrepancy between the check (this included tax) and the credit card slip I signed (my oversight in not checking fully). I tipped in cash, which they wouldn't have known when preparing the slip.... More

14 of us went here for a wonderful dinner after a day of touring Boston. The air conditioning was refreshing, the service was quality, and the food was fantastic! 14 different dishes, and it all came out hot and at the same time! We will be back!

We went to Mother Anna's on the recommendation of David from Boston Free walking Tours. He was spot on. The meal was fantastic and the service was great. Jason was our waiter and he really looked after us. We had the Calamari and the Eggplant, with a very nice Sangria. very good value.

Mother Anna's is an appropriate name fur this restaurant. The dishes and portions seem like they come from a mom's kitchen. The highlight of the restaurant isn't the decor but the food. The seafood gnocchi and clam linguini are a tremendous combo to share with 2-3 people. The house Italian dressing is creamy and very good. Grab some red sauce... More

After a walking tour of hr Freedom Trail in over 30 degree heat, we were exhausted and looking for a place to simply sit down and this was the first restaurant we came across in the Italian district We almost passed it as we needed a high chair and we were a group of 10. The food was wonderful, authentic,... More

Chose this place because it is pretty much the only restaurant in Little Italy with an outdoor patio so we decided to try it. Their pasta is not made in house but their marinara sauce is delicious. The calamari appetizers were good. The cheese ravioli was average but filling. Prices were fair.

We ate at Mother Anna's recently and was very impressed. It is situated where the overpass once was in North End and has now got a great outdoor eating patio area. The owners, Michael and John were working and the latter had a lovely chat with us about the history of the place. John was very proud of his family traditions... More

Neighborhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
