Went to the Oak Long Bar (formerly the Oak Room) for dinner. Everything about our visit was top notch. We had a wonderful table in front of the fireplace on a cold evening, our server was excellent, and the meal was outstanding. Coming from out...of town, the valet parking made getting in and out of the restaurant on a busy Friday night simple and convenient. A wonderful evening all around. This is an excellent bar in the heart of Copley Square. The room is large, quiet and has an old world charm. Drinks are strong and good, and the food is quite good too. Service is quick and friendly.

I don't know when it happened, but the premier "Oak Room" restaurants at a number of prestigious Boston hotels are gone, except maybe this one: The Oak Long Bar at the Fairmont Hotel looking out onto Copley Square. When I arrived for Sunday Brunch recently,...it was quite changed from long ago. The dark oak paneling is is painted over in off-white to make the room a bit cheerier, and the low furnishings are replaced by high-chairs, comfortably upholstered. The menu seemed excellent in a traditional way, as I enjoyed my crab-and-avocado toast with a lovely Bloody Mary. We dropped in without reservations while it was quiet on a January afternoon at about 1:00 PM, though it was packed by when we left. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, as did we in two comfortable seats a the (rather long) bar. I never guessed that Boston Sunday Brunch might disappear into the past. To whom it concerns, My wife, me and a friend came to your “Oak Long Bar Kitchen” for “ Thanksgiving”. Our table was booked for 13:00 and we was sat just around the corner on the left as you walked into the restaurant side. We...ordered x3 Turkey dinners, along with some side dishes, wine, cocktails and disserts the cost of the came to $466.52 and gave $93.30 tip. Now, after having time to reflect about our experience we have decided to send you this email as we left feeling extremely disappointed. What was meant to be a nice hot lunch, sadly was not. First thing was all our main dishes where cold, the Turkey was cold and I even had to ask our waiter if the Turkey was meant to be cold. I then asked for some hot gravy sauce to help warm up the cold Turkey. The gray did come but this took another 15 mins and by then the rest of our food had gone cold. We also noticed that the potato was also not very hot and plates cold. We didn’t want to make more issues with our waiter as what not his fault, and as we was with our friend we didn’t want to cause any embarrassing moments for any of us. Also we did find some of the brussels to be crunchy as if they hadn’t been boiled for long. I personally think the waiter should have asked us if he could have taken all our food back to heat it up, but he never did. And like I mentioned above I did ask for some hot gravy but this took over 15 mins and only one small silver jar not really enough for three people. Had there just been the two of us without our friend I know we would have sent the food back, but as we was with our friend we thought we just check to see if the Turkey was meant to be served cold. And of course was told NO, I think had the waiter on hearing us ask about the Turkey issue should have asked to take it all away rather than for me to ask for hot gravy. Our waiter, for me was okay, so I don’t want this to be a bad reflection on how he looked after us. The only thing I would suggest in future to be asked if you food is okay. Had we only spent $200 on the lunch then maybe I would not sending you personally and email and maybe just putting on” TripAdvisor” but as we paid $559.82 for a cold lunch then I wanted this to go to you first to respond as it’s only fair to hear from you guys. Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food enjoyed by everyone in our group. Shaq (our server) was the best.. attentive and funny.

We ate breakfast three mornings and had different entrees. The Pancakes with maple syrup are awesome and very filling. The American Breakfast and the Breakfast Sandwich are very tasty. Server leaves a pot of coffee so you can refill whenever ready.

I have been acquainted with the hotel for decades so was truly disappointed with the service at the Oak Long bar inside of it. First waited over 5 minutes for the check in to be seated while servers came and went totally ignoring us. Then...after being seated another couple which sat after us by the hostess, next to us, was brought silverware but not us, not until we asked our server who was as dry as a prune. Food was ok but on the side of pricey, but well it's the hotel right, never again!More

In keeping with its location in the Fairmont Copley Plaza hotel, the service and food here is of a very high standard, Although the menu is somewhat limited almost everyone will be able to find an excellent meal.

This is a beautiful restaurant in the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel. The lunch menu is pretty varied and extensive. I had a cup of clam chowder and a gem salad, and both were excellent service was very good too.

The Oak Long Bar offers a menu which likely pleases most everyone, from burgers to carefully crafted entrees. The wine list was quite good and the service was outstanding. We had a table, and if I had it to do over again, we would have...taken a seat at the beautiful bar, where the action is. Nonetheless, we had a fine experience dining at the Oak Long Bar.More

Great atmosphere, drinks were delish and our food was phenomenal! The shrimp and grits were some of the best I’ve ever had and I’m super picky. Don’t miss out on their signature martini, I think it was berry flavored. Our server was super nice and...attentive. Perfect dinner after traveling all day.More

The food is so good and the service is fantastic! It's one of my favorite places to go to in Boston.
