I don’t typically go to hotel restaurants but we were in the Back Bay, hungry, and Oak Long Bar is well regarded. It is with good reason. Our waitress had some recommendations, explaining some items on the menu & providing insight. I had Shrimp & Grits, which I never would have chosen in Boston but it was delicious. My daughter enjoyed a burger with truffled French fries. I recommend it.

We've been to Oak about 5 times in the past six months whenever we have friends coming to visit Boston. The ambiance is great for a night out, and cocktails are great too. Though, the bill is often on the pricier side, their Lobster Roll are great and always fresh. We've also always had good service there. Overall, would recommend if you're ready to spend some bucks.

Got into Boston late and after walking around a little, we decided to eat at the Oak Resturuant. Although we did not have a reservation, they accomodated us as we were staying at the hotel. The New England Clam Chowder was very good, being a good creamy consistency. Had the Artisan salad with added Avocado ($5 extra) which we split between two and lastly had one of their margherita pizza, again splitting it. It was thin crust but a little soggy for my taste. We had breakfast and their Salmon on a bagel was delicous along with a "berry" fruit plate. Overall felt the food was very good but a little expensive. You are paying for the atmosphere and historic surroundings.

Reserved a table, was met with a warm welcome but hat was as far as it goes for sharing any praise.
The waitress kept topping up the glasses from a carafe of water whilst waiting approx 15 mins for a small glass of rose wine, which I felt had a taste of acidity.
Ordered pork chops, which had to be returned as this was still raw went you got passed the sauce and coating.
Be mindful the light on the tables are quite dim and I'm thankful I checked my food.
I felt there was lack of personal customer service, felt like a number.
As residence of the hotel, it did leave a sour taste and hoped for good things from the accommodation.
I felt this was over priced and no vegetables were included.
Compared yo many restaurants tried from being a traveller, this has some way to go.

This used to be such a beautiful bar. We went Thanksgiving evening, the service was slow, which was ok but my son ordered the ribs and they were a giant slab of fat. It was disgusting. Music was that loud techno stuff. Lots of money for a complete miss.

We have always loved the atmosphere and food here, but tonight dinner was ruined by the lousy service. The waiter forgot the dessert we ordered, then threw the check on the table and there wasn’t even a pen to sign for it . Rude and ungracious, when of course it is an expensive evening .

I am rating my experience 2 out of 5 because of the decor and helpful waiter. However the food was 1 star.
We had the shishito peppers and truffle fries for appetizers. The peppers were a little slimy and the fries just OK (at $17 I would expect freshly cooked fries, these appeared to be reheated).
My king salmon was cold and the sauce totally over powered by a large amount of onions. My son’s waffle and Turkey wing/leg was over cooked. The Turkey meat dry and the waffle (made of stuffing) was charred / burnt and inedible. My daughter’s burger was OK but again dry.
I live in the area. This was my second visit and I will not return.
For a Fairmont restaurant they should be doing a lot better!!

For the beauty of the place, I was expecting a lot. Unfortunately, I was saddly disappointed. There were four of us. Two of us got our meals and the other two waited 15 minutes for their food. My burger was tough, chewy, and flavorless. They forgot part of my meal as well. Another person had the dryest steak I've ever seen. I could go on but why bother wasting more of my time. You'd think with this type of hotel they would have a better restaurant. Maybe drinks are fine but certainly not the food!

The worst service. We spent thousands of dollars just at the bar. They were awful. Rude. Barely came around. When someone in our party ordered some food, a waiter brought the plate and put it in front of him and walked away. No napkins. No forks. No nothing.
We asked for the bill and he just walked away. When he came back very rudely asked so who’s paying for this.
We are all very polite and asked for things as nicely as possible. Why be rude?
Unfortunate. Cause the wine was delicious.

Chucked in the framework of the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel is the Oak Long Bar + Kitchen, an American Brassiere restaurant and bar. With an inspiring farm-to-table menu it serves up delicacies like Beef Tartare, Pork-belly, Seared Duck Breast amongst others. I couldn't pass on the New England Clam Chowder and the Grilled Octopus, star items on the food catalogue. The cocktail list is robust with funky options served on an elegant coppertop bar. I enjoyed 'The Pie In The Sky", a concoction consisting of vodka , passionfruit and lime. Food is good, service is good, atmosphere is pleasant.

Had an early, pre-BSO dinner with my son on a Saturday night. We were seated promptly by the warm, friendly hostess even though we were 10 minutes early for our reservation. The bar and tables were very busy and the music was loud, but not too loud. The steak tartar starter was overwhelmed by mustard seeds in the mixture - could not really detect the beef. But the duck breast and grilled octopus entrees were excellent. The duck breast was perfectly dark pink with a delicious bed of pine nuts. Grilled octopus was succulent and the chickpea/marconi almond accompaniment was perfect. Portions are on the small side, but adequate. I think the restaurant wants you to order multiple pricy sides and starters. Service was friendly and not rushed. Overall a very pleasant experience. I strongly suggest making reservations.

I was leery of a hotel restaurant, but this place knocked it out of the park. I had a luscious endive salad with red cabbage and pomegranate berries - very seasonal and pretty. My only quibble; it was way too big! Then grilled octopus with a melange of chickpeas, almonds, etc that perfectly complemented the octopus. Some might be squeamish seeing an entire full-sized octopus arm on the plate, but it was so tasty that I got over it in a hurry. Three cheers to the chef for such creative and delicious food!

Huge thanks to the team at Oak bar for another great stay whilst at Fairmont Copley.
Every time we visit here we are always welcomed like regulars…..and we possibly visit the city 2-3 times per year. Bonnie, Matt, Nate the list goes on and on of great bar team that always create the perfect afternoon lunch or evening meal at ….for me, one of the best bars in the states! After sipping thru one of their scrumptious Martinis order the mussels or OAK burger or lobster roll or oven baked pizza! We’ve luckily tried them all and every time the food and service along with the regular buzz in this bar is 10/10. If you don’t have time to go for dining make sure you go for a drink!
Thanks also to JP who makes sure we’re well looked after. Cheers guys!

This is the hotel restaurant for the Copley Fairmont. We snacked there Christmas eve around 4PM as we had 8PM dinner reservations. The place was very full and the hostess made a big deal about fitting us in even thought there were always empty tables. Snack is an understatement. I had the lobster roll and my wife had a pizza. The food was good, but nothing special Service was good although drinks took awhile from the crowded bar.
We had brunch there the next morning. The place was very quiet even though, when booking the reservation that told us it booked full, but they would accomadate us as we were staying at the hotel. Food was fantastic and I highly recommend the brunch. I had the museli and corned beef hash. The museli was the best I have ever had and the hash was excellent. My wife had eggs benedict with ham the breakfast potatos. I tasted the potatos and they were delicious. They were large square patties.

Really disappointed. Went for dinner Christmas Day. Very slow service (30 mins to get a drink). Appetisers took another 30 minutes and were cold. Another long delay for main course. Food was good enough but expensive. We waited 40 minutes for desserts then gave up and got check without them.
