I go here at least once every couple of months and always sit at the bar. There are good wine and drink selections, and a pizza always makes for a great appetizer. And fact, the pizza combinations a very unique and delicious. I would be remiss, however, if I didn't comment on the somewhat icy service at the bar. While... More

Large portions served in an elegant setting. Reasonable prices for brunch. Chocolate chip pancakes and egg white Omelette were delicious. Warm cinnamon bun is myst for sharing. Top notch service. Dressy crowd. Would go back again.

My favorite restaurant in Boston. Food is delicious, service is attentive but not over bearing and atmosphere lively but romantic. Any chance I get, mistral is my pick!

Lucky for us this is a neighborhood restaurant. One of our Boston favorites. My wife loves the tuna tartare and try the beef tenderloin thin crust pizza for an appetizer for two or any selection of appetizers can complete a dinner, especially if you are not hungry. The service also is consistently excellent, even when it is extremely busy, which... More

We started with a wine at the bar before dinner. The bar is really nice, great service and big enough to enjoy dinner right there, if you're so inclined. We lingered for a while before going to our table. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, great artwork through out and nice lighting. The food was fantastic. We especially liked the short... Food and service at the Mistral was excellent if you stick with the basics. The restaurant decor was a mix of modern and old Boston and the mood lighting perfect for the setting. Tables were set reasonably apart to prevent conversation from other tables spilling over to our table. Service was prompt and the menu easy to decipher. We went... More

Very comfortable with excellent service and attentive bar tender. Wine list was great and we had Beef carpaccio, seared Foes gras, the salmon and Sole which was very uniquely prepared. Espresso and digestif and voila what a meal. Never rushed and truly made to feel welcome. This is the last of three French must haves when visiting the Bean!

dinner was a 5. our waiter was fun in what can often feel like a stuffy atmosphere. We enjoyed each cocktail & course. The wine selections are a 10. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy a yummy relaxing dinner out before the holiday hustle & bustle.

Food and service was excellent. We were seated at a table that we didn't like (near waiter station and noisy), asked for a change, and were seated in a better area. No problems. Really like the complimentary car service provided by the restaurant - they took us to the Pops after dinner in a really nice lexus.

Thank Tony T

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
