The service is excellent. I liked part of my meal, but it was really ruined by the risotto it came with that tasted like someone accidentally spilled the contents of a whole salt shaker in it. The other person who got the same dish (halibut) also noticed this. I think everyone else was happy with their meals so it's certainly... More

Love this place! Always go for the tuna tartar, any one of the three pizzas, a solid glass of wine and awesome service.

Possibly the best lobster bisque we have ever had. Very creamy and rich, several lobster pieces and puff pastry was delicious soaked in the bisque. One of best lamb my wife has ever had - she says "huge portion. Dover sole with spinach and onions also excellent. Very filling.

This place is good, worth trying once, but not the best in Boston. If you want the best, go to either Sorellina or Ostra. For more casual atmosphere--Oleana and Sarma.

A visit to this restaurant is a great experience. The ambiance is very pleased, the food preparation is exquisite. We had Dover sole that rare to find in restaurants. It was perfectly prepared, so was the salmon tartare. The service was attentive, helpful and not overbearing. I would return many times.

A friend of mine has an infatuation with restaurant chicken dishes and insisted that I had tried it at Mistral, well I would normally go for the tenderloin but I caved in to his suggestion...glad I did as it was a fantastic choice. Started with a thin crust pizza as a starter for the table, drinks are also a signature... More

Met up with some friends here for drinks and apps at the bar... fantastic. The place always has a nice feel, a glow.... more NYC-like than Boston. Place was it's usual busy self. Pizzas were excellent... mushroom and one with sliced steak. Other apps also excellent. The bartenders are professional, really know how to properly make a drink. Excellent service.

Very well done! Excellent cuisine, ambiance, and service! The escargot has a bit of a unique burgundy wine sauce which made for the best escargot I've had in my life! The steak au poivre was cooked to perfection with another wonderful sauce. The basil gimlets are crisp and refreshing. The ginger cake was sweet, but not too sweet: perfect for... More

Excellent brunch is an excellent venue. Mistral was a true Sunday morning delight. Our bloody mary's were tall and thin with horseradish and clammato. One of us had squash omelette and another lump crab, BOTH delicious. Also the Apple wood bacon pizza was luscious...Cant be beat!!!! Wanted to try the chocolate chip pancakes with sautéed bananas but no such luck,... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
