I've written hundreds of reviews and can count the truly bad ones on one hand. This was one of them. The condiment tray on the table was filthy (see pic.) We ordered egg rolls and two pork, shrimp and egg roll vermicelli bowls. My husband...asked if we could have two additional bowls of fish sauce as we love the flavor. His response was incredulous--"you want two more bowls?" as if it was unheard of (we always order it that way.) We never got them. When the egg rolls were brought out there were only two rolls on small squares of iceberg lettuce. No vermicelli noodles, bean sprouts or shredded carrots. We've ordered this in many restaurants including a few in Vietnam, and it is always served with those condiments and large leaves of leaf lettuce you use to wrap all of those things together. So we wrapped the small leaves of iceberg around the egg rolls and dipped them. Flavor was meh and the meat inside was dry. Then the main dishes came out. I see that the shrimp aren't peeled OR deveined. They are split down the back, but the poop vein is there, disgusting. The host was coming around checking with people and he asked how the food was. When I mentioned it to him he said "oh, we don't do that." Unbelievable. I peeled and deveined them myself then tried the pork; dry, tough and flavorless. The egg rolls were the same as the ones we'd already had, meh. Even the fish sauce tasted watered down. I requested another bowl (again), and this time it was brought out. I finished less than half of the bowl, disliking each bite more than the last. My husband finished his but didn't really like it either. Long story short, I can't believe this place has won awards. Worst Vietnamese food ever.More

My wife and I went here for lunch. We had a chicken and vegetable dish and spring rolls with shrimp. The spring rolls were large but mostly shredded cabbage with just one tiny piece of shrimp. The chicken dish was totally tasteless. The service was...inattentiveMore

We have seen all our favorite Vietnamese restaurants disappear, so Pho Pasteur seems like one of the few standing . Vermicelli bowls are great!

Chicken dish was good to, waiters a little slow. South East Asian rolls were also good. Perfect place if you do not want to wait for a table at some of the more popular locals.

Price - cheap Food - not fancy at all but good pho, although I was disappointed that the fresh summer roll didn’t have any mint or basil Service - fast

Although I’ve never had the Pho, everyone seems to comment about it in a positive way. I’ve been to this restaurant a couple of times and always want to like it more than I do when I leave. This time room temperature “egg roll” and...a noodle bowl with chicken cut to too many varying sizes and some pieces with less than desirable texture. Generally good, quick, unfriendly service (but tolerable). We were off-peak 2pm and think I’m over this place which is sad, it the closest restaurant to home.More

One of the very few Vietnamese restaurants in Boston Chinatown (many moves to Dorchester MA). Both seafood and combination beef pho were good . Beef pho was a little too salty to my taste. Service was fast.

Our first night in Boston, arrived late and tired from the trip. Decided to eat local and found this Vietnamese restaurant around the corner. It was very bust busy which is a good sign. We ordered far too much food all of it enjoyable from...beef skewers, egg rolls, beef noodles, friend rice and a chicken vegetable dish. All this food plus two beers and a glass of wine plus a tip only totalled $70. Great value.More

I have lunch in this restaurant(Vietnamese). I order Rice Soup with Fish and my wife order Beef Noodle. The taste is terrific and the price is so cheap compared the quality and amount of food.

I am baffled that this place was (is?) rated as the best Vietnamese food in Boston. The shrimp pad Thai was overly spiced. Most pad Thai's are served with spice on the side. I did not finish it. The better half had beef pho which...was unremarkable and only "tasty" when eaten with the accompanying basil leaves. The fresh shrimp spring rolls were chock full of lettuce and only had flavor when smothered in the accompanying sauce. This forgettable meal was concluded with the wrong bill being presented. I also saw other folks trying to get the attention of the overworked staff. This place is noisy as all get out. I am not sure what to say except, "Bail out".More
