I expected a pleasant dinner given the reviews by many but it turned out to be quite disappointing. A beef terryaki starter was tender but basically without flavour and the chicken and vegetable s sweet and sour soup was also quite problematic: the tasteless industrial...chicken was, unfortunately , almost expected but the pineapple pieces coming straight from the can managed to surprise me… what an abysmal cooking level. The dish remained reasonably tasty given the others spices but was overall mediocre. As for the service… yes they put the plates on the table… that’s about it. No sense of hospitality whatsoever. Not twice.More

We've been coming here for years. Never felt welcome, but the food was good. This time, we watched the server take care of people who came in after us. NEVER again.

We found this place while visiting Boston’s Chinatown. Place was pretty busy but it didn’t take long to get seated. Along some of the walls were many awards from Boston Magazine and Zagats, recognizing them for their food and service. Menu had a lot of...choices to choose from. We ended up ordering variations of beef pho noodle soup. I prefer tendon so I ordered one that was half rare beef, half tendon. We also had a mango smoothie. Food was fantastic. The rare beef was tender and tasty. Tendon was soft and delicious too. The broth was one of the best I’ve had. Mango smoothie was really good too. Can’t wait to visit Boston again. Would love to try more dishes.More

Now that Lee's of Allston is closed, the Pho Pasteur might be the oldest Vietnamese restaurant in town. It can be very busy but this adds to the fun because of the huge mix of all sorts of people eating in. I have no idea...how the kitchen manages the output but it does and the food is usually good. If it isn't, chances are that it'll be better again next time.More

The restaurant was very busy when we arrived around 8pm but we still didn’t wait long for a table, our orders to be taken and the food to arrive. The beef pho tai was delicious even if the noodles were not traditional pho noodles. The...chicken and vegetable stir fry was also delicious. Very reasonably priced and large serves. A good place for a no nonsense, very casual, inexpensive dinner.More

A true China town classic. True to form always. A great bowl of pho any time of day. You really can't go wrong if you're in the mood for good Vietnamese food. This place never disappoints.

The restaurant is located a little walk from the shopping center The interior is typical, so do not expect a fancy and cousy restaurant, but it is busy with both locals and tourist and their menu card offers a lot of different dishes. Since it...was lunch I ordered a Pad Thai and it was great. It is a huge plate, with a lot of chcken, fresh vegetables, some lime and peanuts. It easily served the two of us.More

As lovers of Pho, we have visited Pho Pasteur many times. We had a chance to stop in again during our recent trip to Boston. Nothing fancy and we would recommend avoiding many of the items on the menu, but the Pho is authentic and...very good. Not sure how long these specialty restaurants will be around, so enjoy while you can. Located on Washington St at the edge of Chinatown, Always a great area to exploreMore

Pho was pretty good, great stock, plenty of meat, a solid 8/10. Fried spring rolls, less so. Definitely been hanging around for a while. Would return just for the Pho

I've written hundreds of reviews and can count the truly bad ones on one hand. This was one of them. The condiment tray on the table was filthy (see pic.) We ordered egg rolls and two pork, shrimp and egg roll vermicelli bowls. My husband...asked if we could have two additional bowls of fish sauce as we love the flavor. His response was incredulous--"you want two more bowls?" as if it was unheard of (we always order it that way.) We never got them. When the egg rolls were brought out there were only two rolls on small squares of iceberg lettuce. No vermicelli noodles, bean sprouts or shredded carrots. We've ordered this in many restaurants including a few in Vietnam, and it is always served with those condiments and large leaves of leaf lettuce you use to wrap all of those things together. So we wrapped the small leaves of iceberg around the egg rolls and dipped them. Flavor was meh and the meat inside was dry. Then the main dishes came out. I see that the shrimp aren't peeled OR deveined. They are split down the back, but the poop vein is there, disgusting. The host was coming around checking with people and he asked how the food was. When I mentioned it to him he said "oh, we don't do that." Unbelievable. I peeled and deveined them myself then tried the pork; dry, tough and flavorless. The egg rolls were the same as the ones we'd already had, meh. Even the fish sauce tasted watered down. I requested another bowl (again), and this time it was brought out. I finished less than half of the bowl, disliking each bite more than the last. My husband finished his but didn't really like it either. Long story short, I can't believe this place has won awards. Worst Vietnamese food ever.More

We have seen all our favorite Vietnamese restaurants disappear, so Pho Pasteur seems like one of the few standing . Vermicelli bowls are great!

Chicken dish was good to, waiters a little slow. South East Asian rolls were also good. Perfect place if you do not want to wait for a table at some of the more popular locals.
