My husband and I had tickets to see a show at the Boston Opera House. We arrived early so we could enjoy a quick bite before the show. We parked at the Hyatt and decided to try their restaurant. We were seated immediately and were waited on right away. We enjoyed drinks and each had "Bar Bites". He had the... More

Great attentive service in this relaxing restaurant. Food was fresh and tasty. I had the spinach salad that included red quinoa, sliced local feta, oranges in a light olive oil dressing topped with grilled salmon. They definitely have an up to date menu with many options for all food palates (gluten free and vegan friendly here).

Stayed at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Boston for a meeting, so it was easy to take most meals in the hotel restaurant, Avenue One. Amazing breakfast omelets using fresh regional ingredients. Lots of nice soups, salads, sandwiches on lunch menu. Local seafood on dinner menu, nicely prepared and presented. On the negative side, service tended to be a bit... More

This restaurant has great food at reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and efficient. They have superb omelets and hot cakes. Ask for William on the morning shift.

We had a late dinner here after we checked into the hotel. The charcuterie plate was wonderful, lots of great local meats, cheese, and honey. The bread/crackers that came with it were lacking. A hearty wheat bread with nuts would've been welcome. The chicken sandwich was spicier than expected and just average. The Boston cream pie was DELECIOUS! (and we... More

The room service from this restaurant is unbelievable. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality, timeliness, and overall service from this room service. We ordered breakfast the first morning and because the food and service was remarkable, we continued to order breakfast each morning! Then one afternoon during our stay we ordered lunch in. I had the lobster grilled cheese... More

I usually write generic reviews about hotel stays but this is for William at Avenue One, the restaurant in the Hyatt. My young son was having a horrible morning as children sometimes do on family vacations. He didn't want to eat anything or talk to anyone. Our waiter, William went above and beyond talking to my son, bringing him little... More

We stayed at the Hyatt for a couple days and decided to try their in-house restaurant. We ate here twice, once for breakfast and once for lunch. Both meals were very good and reasonable priced. For lunch we had the organic chicken salad and a turkey sandwich. The sandwich came with a salad. They bring the dishes out nicely presented.... More

We have only done room service, many times that is. The food and the service is consistently good, very good! Just had the crab cakes which were incredible, fresh, well seasoned.....just what a guest would expect from a Boston restaurant. Our toddler has enjoyed the food too, especially the juicy cheeseburger and curry chicken skewers. The breakfast smoothies are perfectly... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
