Popped in there after a terrible experience in Ruth's Chris steak house over the road, to a very warm and friendly welcome from the bar staff. Ordered a couple of cocktails; they were cheap and extremely good. Soooo, we went back to our hotel to drop off our stuff, got changed and went back for more. Had planned to then... More

Sam Lagrasses was standing room only so we walked back down the street and found the HUB PUB. We ordered the lobster roll which was the special of the day. It was heavy on the mayo and the lobster was a little mushy with very little taste. The other item we got was the flatbread pizza. The was a much... More

We didn't want to eat at one of the places in the Quincy Market and deal with the crowds, and Sam LaGrassa's nearby was closed, so we chose to eat at the Hub Pub. The service was good, and the food was served pretty quickly. The servings were quite large, so much so that we could have had just two... More

Nothing great, but a solid meal for a reasonable price. In downtown Boston, this was one of the more inexpensive meals for the family. I enjoyed the steak tips, the hummus appetizer was also very tasty. We had tried to go to Beantown Pub but could not bring kids into the restaurant. They recommended Hub Pub, same owners.

The bar tenders were both on their cell phones. We felt ignored. Condiments that should have been refrigerated were sitting out on the tables, warm. Who knows how long they'd been sitting out.

Normal Pub with a good service. Different beers and a not so a bad gin tonic. I will go back when in Boston.

The Hub Pub puts out a consistently solid product. Burgers, chicken fingers, more substantial entrees and, my favorite, their hot dogs with crinkle cuts. Owned by the same folks who own the Beantown Pub but much friendlier, more of a local feel, and while they probably share recipes, the food is always better prepared here. Music is very loud at... Stopped by here on my first night in Boston and wanted to visit a local pub for a drink and food. Relaxed atmosphere with TVs all over to catch a game, no local feel making you feel uncomfortable. Good local beer on tap and daily food specials which isn't your typical bar food.

To the waitresses defense, it was very busy when we stopped in for a drink but it took about 30 minutes to even get a beer and the hummus I ordered was NOT edible

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
