I just love this place. It's well staffed, clean, fast, friendly and all the food is very fresh. I can order scrod and salmon for my hotpot any day of the week and it's fresh. I think they cut the meats to the perfect thickness as well. I also like their combination of spices for the hot pot. I do... More

This was my first dim sum experience and was recommended to head here by a local. What a great suggestion it was! You may experience a wait for the tables but there is a U-shaped counter where I was able to be seated immediately. My very kind and patient server explained the process and provided suggestions and ultimately taught me... More

This is a great change of pace when visiting Chinatown. Not as hectic as DimSum or other local restaurants, this is a slightly more pricey alternative that is well worth a try. You pick your broths (2) and different items, which you then cook in your own hotpot. We had the premier meat package, which also came with an array... More

Picked the wrong broth flavour the first 2 times. Tom Yam and Mongolian. Did not like either - too spicy and rather overwhelming. Got it right on my 3rd visit - the mushroom broth was excellent. I liked the big seafood platter. This restaurant is in a congested part of Boston and the seats are placed a little too close... More

We had a wonderful time celebrating the birthday of a high schooler. Shabu Zen was her choice. Our waitress was very helpful in explaining everything we needed to know about the sauces, condiments and cooking the food. Yes, with the exception of some appetizers you cook your own meals here! A party of 5 in a booth, we had 2... More

If you have never had hot pot before, it is definitely an experience. The food portions are generous, and it is always fresh. The service is friendly and inviting, and the atmosphere is good, although a little loud at times.

Good service. It was nice to be able to have vegetarian hotpot with no animal oil in the water. I just wish there were more color in the vegies (too bland and white).. Add some broccoli, and some eggplant.

Was in the mood for a shabu and a friend had recommended the place. Good menu, generous portion, fresh ingredients, except for some previously frozen vegetables and excellent service. Meat, pork and vegetable dishes were generous and great. Excellent service. Strongly recommend.

Thank John K

Enter through the iconic Chinatown gate and stroll down Beach, Tyler, and Kneeland streets to explore the compact area. Rest your feet from walking and grab a bite at one of the many restaurants around Chinatown. From traditional Chinese to Vietnamese to Malaysian, there is a wide range of Asian food available, within easy access of South Station.
