Food was great and service. Best clam chowder in the entire universe. Family owned and run, father, a 💎 gem and daughter a dimond. Best food and service on the wharf and Navy fans, too!

We've been going to the Sail Loft for years. It is a no-nonsense seafood restaurant with a pub-style atmosphere on the waterfront. The staff is friendly and it is a reasonable place to eat in an area of the city that doesn't offer much except...over-priced places.More
Had to wait for a table on a busy Saturday night but it was well worth it. Delicious halibut with a fab lobster sauce and lobster mac and cheese certainly hit the spot. The halibut was very well priced.
This was one of the best meals both my wife and I have had. My father wife and I came in with the expectation on just getting drinks. To paint a picture, we have three very different pallets. My wife is a pescatarian who like...fruity drinks. My dad drinks rum and cokes, and likes very plain food without sauce, as well as no seafood or vegetables, I like craft beer and love seafood, veggies, red meat, and all in between. We were drinking our drinks, me a beer, father a rum and coke, and wife a craft cocktail, and we saw the plates passing. We decided to stay, a bit to my surprise as my father would not typically like this type of restaurant. I ordered the lobster ravioli which was incredible. The sauce was so so good and it was loaded with probably half a lobster in the sauce alone. Plus whatever was in the ravioli. My wife ordered a seafood pasta that was absolutely loaded with seafood. It had 1/2 a lobster in the shell. 8-9 clams, 5-6 scallops, 2-3 shrimp, and tons of calamari. In fact, when the waitress sat the plate down I saw the calamari and thought it was the pasta there was so much seafood piled on this plate. My wife said her two different craft cocktails were excellent, dad said the rum and coke was made right, and my beers were great. Our waitress was knowledgeable and very friendly as was the manager. My wife, being disabled and having a medical alert service dog is sometimes heckled by restaurant staff, however this manager knew exactly what to ask and how to ask it. Overall, will be going back next time I am in Boston.More
I love clam chowder, and I’ve tried it all over the country. None come close to theirs. I have dreams about their chowder. I recently came back after quite a few years (I live in Michigan) to see if it was really as good as...I remembered, or if my memory had just hyped it up. It was definitely as good as I remembered. I ended up eating 3 bowls of it!More
Best clam chowder in Boston!!!!We tried about 4 different places while in Boston last weekend and this one was the best!!!!
Single lobster over a good amount of mussels, $40. The lobster was fine, but some of the mussels were under-cooked while some were flavorless (possibly because they were drenched in the lobster water?). My partner's fish and chips, $30: tartar sauce was not classic, but...overpowering. The fish itself was done well- mild and flaky and the batter was perfect. The fries were perfectly adequate but not memorable. A small amount of well prepared coleslaw, with raisins(!), was provided, but no additional bread or vegetable. Basic presentation on both our dishes. The subsequent Bob Dylan concert at the Orpheum Theater was much more memorable. :-)More
Best clam chowder ever! The broiled scallops were incredible. Huge portions, friendly helpful wait staff and nicest owner manager ever!
We came to our local haunt for mother's 90th bday lunch. She wanted a martini. All the friendly staff make you feel like you are family. Best Boston Clam Chowder - the dill adds great flavor. Huge lobster rolls. Even though I skipped the fries...(for double order of really tasty coleslaw) they are outrageously yummy. Will be back this weekend with our son who loves their Fishermans platter (to split for the table since it is so big). Guess I'll have the fries then.More
Authentic excellent food and all four of us had different dishes. Started with clam chowder and after four other restaurants-it’s the best! Great service. Hope to return.
We came here for their chowder, and what a letdown. It was our least favorite chowder we had. It didn't have much flavor. The service was okay. Ambiance was meh, definitely a spot to drink a beer and get a burger. Not sure if I'd...come back just based on my experience.More
First stop after arriving in Boston. Awesome local on the water in the harbor. Greeted by the owner who came by and chatted with us later, even though they were busy. Everything on the menu is delicious. Opted for the swordfish sandwich and it was cooked...to perfection. Fries were amazing, crisp on the outside, seasoned nicely and tender on the inside...I'm not a fries person, but ate these up. Clam chowder was the best! Service was superb. Highly recommend and we will be backMore
The Sail Loft is a wonderful place for lunch. The lobster roll is sensational! Chunks of lobster tossed in a very light mayo served on a brioche bun. The succulent lobster was cooked perfectly. Every bite was delicious. I highly recommend. The French fries were...crispy on the outside and creamy in the middle. Enjoy!More
We expected fresh seafood and oysters. But all they offered were fried fish or to long sautéed tune … big portions but low quality - not recommendable!
The food is absolutely delicious. The clam chowder, fish platter, surf & turf were seasoned to perfection. I’ll be back.
