we were a group of 10 and landed on these poor people with no reservations and ready to eat dozens & dozens of oysters!!! They staff was awesome, friendly and joined in on a good time! The food was awesome! After about 10 dozen oysters we moved on to flatbread pizzas, burgers and fish. Oh, the oyster shooters (a shot... More

We were there for the Jazz and the food was terrific . One of us had the prix fixe menu and the accompanying wines which were well chosen . The other had the arugula salad and the chicken provencal . All were delicious and well prepared . Excellent service from the maitre d and waiters . Our second time there... More

We went to LZ with friends on the spur of the moment mid week. The restaurant is very large and we were shown through to the far side where there were not many diners and a live jazz band. I personally found the music too loud for the number of people in the room, but the band were very good... More

Was with a large group on a weekend night. Staff was accommodating; background music, live, was great. Food took a bit long...probably because we all were very hungry...but was quite good and inventive. I'll go back next time I'm in Boston!

We stopped by for a light dinner and a glass of wine. Staff were friendly and helpful, they had a nice wine selection and the bites we shared were very nice, oysters were fresh, we also had an awesome salad and a lovely steak tartar

We've been to Les Zygomates many times over the years, and it still has a great vibe--active but not aggressive, loud but cheerily so, informal but not indifferent. And the kitchen turned out excellent food on our recent visit--steak frites, halibut, tasty salads. I'd say a cut above their average. Our waiter was hardworking but scarce. Nonetheless, things were going... More

When my daughter takes the bus up from college in NYC- this is my go to place (too bad she graduates soon- may have to make other excuses!) Menu changes around with some staples- tonight had pan fried mozzarella with hazelnuts, grilled fruits- pita crisps-great starter- then fresh lobster roe fettuccine with lobster, short ribs- asparagus, mushrooms- amazing - full... Typically you don't find great restaurants near train stations but Les Zygomates is a spectacular find. Was her for lunch and the food was exceptional. The ambience evoked a Parisian bistro. Best, it was inexpensive. A great find.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
