This pan Asian in the North End was recommended by our concierge. The California maki barely had any crab artificial or otherwise and the shrimp tempura was greasy and the vegetables were undercooked. This place is mediocre at best. Very disappointing.

Walked over to Billy's and it was a great choice. Seated in the dining room (I think you need a special handshake or signal to be seated in the bar. We were told it was full but watched several parties be taken and seated right after us). But no worries. Dining room was quiet and the food was wonderful. Nice... More

I was very surprised by the poor food after reading positive reviews. Restaurant was clean, service was fine, but food was greasy and bland. Will not return. It was probably our fault for going for Chinese in the North End.

I love Billy Tse's. They're an unusual place that does pan-Asian food right. I particularly like the Thai and Singapore style dishes (Try the Singapore Fried Rice if you like curry). I can't comment on be sushi. Never tried it. But for Chinese/Thai: Very good. Dependable. Seemingly always open. Fun for eat in our (as I usually do) take out.... More

We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. We were leaving on Sunday and we were bummed we didn't find this place sooner! The sushi was very good and the fish very fresh. The sushi came as 2 pieces per order. We also ordered spring rolls (2 rolls-very large per order) and chicken fried rice, which was also very... More

Fell across this place when staying at the marina nearby. I've never been in a Chinese restaurant where the action takes place in the bar! Very social, with both locals and tourists eating in the dining room, the sushi bar, but mainly the bar bar. Wide variety of food, reasonably priced, and everyone seemed to be enjoying it very much.... More

WOW, I have missed the East Coast Chinese food. This place had great food and an outdoor patio to enjoy the warm evening. Highly reccommend.

We ate here by recommendation of the Rodeway Hotel and we were not disappointed! We checked out the dishes the folks next to use were eating and they recommended we try the Tangerine Shrimp. This is on the menu as Tangerine Beef, but they said we could get it with shrimp. OMG- was it ever good!! We ordered a couple... More

We did not know what to expect, but the kids wanted some Asian food as we walked around the Northend. They really are a Pan-Asian restaurant, as they have dishes common to Chinese, Japanese, and Thai restaurants. All are excellent. Service was good, waiter was attentive and had answers to any questions we had. We were so pleasantly surprised that... More

Staying in North End

Neighborhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
