Busy restaurant so we knew the food would be amazing. We didn't mind the wait. Some might suggest 20 dollars for a sub is expensive but you definitely get what you pay for at this place. I still have half of my delicious sub left for tomorrows lunch. Staff was great and place is clean.

Walked in here on a whim while I was exploring the North End and I'm SO glad that I did. The subs here are so good, and while I'm not a good judge of whether or not something is "authentically Italian", I can at least say that they use fresh, quality ingredients. There's also a lot of snacks and drinks (lots of San Pellegrino flavors) that you can pickup to go with your meal.

OMG where do I start. I had the hero with prosciutto and burrata. The seasoning was out of this world and the bread was fresh and flaky. The boys had the meatball hero and again, best sauce ever and meatballs perfectly seasoned.
There is not a table to sit in the restaurant but there is a nearby park with adorable swinging benches. Just a perfect experience. If in Boston make it a point to have this at least once.

I really mean it and I love italian subs - This place is the Mecca - the quality of the meats/cheese and the fresh bread unbelievable. Situated in the North end on a side street it was worth the wait even in a mask! If you want to top it off get a Canoli from Bovas or any amazing pastry. Ill have dreams about this lunch for rest of my life - I kid you not as I right this now I am dying to go back!!!!

So we were in the north end (my wife and me) just wandering around and literally stumbled on this deli. I happen to be a chicken Parm sub enthusiast. I get them literally everywhere I go. Monica‘s chicken Parm sub was arguably the BEST chicken Parm sub I have ever had and I am 62 years of age!! The bread, the chicken, sauce, and the cheese was absolutely delicious.

The Italian sub I got from this place was out of this world. Delicious bread packed with tons of freshly sliced meats and cheese, along with all sorts of salad and a spicy relish. My only issue is that I'm not sure any other sandwich will ever compare! If I'm ever in Boston again, I'm heading straight back here.

Never been so pleasantly surprised over a sandwich. Don’t let the prices scare you off folks. The size of the sandwich is bigger than a foot long and it is loaded with all the fixings. Took me 4 days to finish this sandwich it was just so big. They did not skimp on any meats/cheeses. Hard working people. Always a line, only two people were making the sandwiches. Want to skip the line? Order online! They aren’t accepting phone orders.

was actually going to have seafood for late lunch. walking in north end, picking up some bakery items at bova's next door and fortuitously decided to check out this place. one of the best italian subs i've ever had. great bread, which is so important, great meats too. passed on the "hots" but had everything else. got the large, planning on 2 meals. not cheap [$12 for small, $15 for large] in my mind but not from "big city" so maybe this is the going rate. carry-out only.

If you are in the North End and want a good sub, Monica's is your spot. Fresh bread and great ingredients make for some of the best subs in town. Like a turkey sandwich, the Tukka sub is amazing.

We stopped in as part of the Politically Incorrect Food Tour of the North End and the Sub was simply incredible. Fresh veggies, incredible meat and just a touch of spice - maybe from a tapenade. It was delicious & by far the best hero/sub we’ve ever experienced & all 12 of the people in our group agreed. In fact, All of Monica’s establishments were the best in their offerings. Def visit their various businesses in the North End for delicious eats!!

The Rosemary Ham Special was one of the best subs I’ve ever had, all of the ingredients were so fresh. I’m glad we read the reviews that one was big enough to share. After eating the sandwich I see why they have won top ratings.

Went into Boston solo yesterday with a shopping list and agenda. Always wanted to try this place for subs. I don’t know that I’ve ever had an $18 sub before so I was curious.
Just finished 2nd half of the Italian I got yesterday. Had the first half last night. OUTSTANDING and packed with meat & cheese. One size only. Feeds two easily. It’s now my sub shop in the NE. Pauli’s next visit but it’s got shoes to fill!

We were excited to have some of the highest rated subs in Boston. They were made fresh, in front of us! I had the Italian, and my wife got the Prosciutto Cotta special. The sandwiches were large and loaded, but non-dimensional. They were missing the hoped for intense flavor in the meat and the bread. Not bad, just No mouth party here.🤷🏻♂️

I had read a review that this place had the best Italian sub. I had to try it. I concur that it was one of the best Italian subs I have ever had. I will return and this is a must stop for anyone in the north end.

Went for sandwiches, Italian and chicken parm. Chicken dry. Italian good, but not the best I’ve had. Roll good, certainly not the best. Expected a little better for 18 dollars per sandwich
