You definitely won't go hungry after eating here. Portions are large. Prefer the crab cakes in Baltimore however, the Seafood Casserole (seafood Newburgh ) was extremely flavourful. Very busy establishment.

Dined on a Saturday night so as is typical at most Legal locations, it was packed. Ordered a baked stuffed lobster. Server brought out a steamed lobster. Sent back to kitchen and I suspect they used the same steamed lobster but opened and stuffed as the meat was overcooked and tough.

Legal Seafood at the Seapirt is a Must do for visitors and even locals! Sutting overlooking Biston Harbor is soo special. The Littlenecks and oysters were so sweet and tasty!! Had steamers cooked perfect. As if that wasn't great enough, then we had Fried Clam with nice small bellies!!!! I still miss the family owned restaurant, JIMMY'S HARBORSIDE which was... More

The waterfront location of this upscale seafood restaurant chain in Boston is an excellent dining venue for the family. You must start with a selection of all of their fresh from the water oysters on the half shell and nothing is better than this unless you try the clam chowder or the fried clams. Lobster roll or pie, every kind... More

Great meal and service. The only thing I would recommend is that management consider moving the hostess desk away from the revolving entrance/exit door. Several people waiting in line got bumped often by the door when other diners entered the restaurant. If you have more than 3 people in the hostess line, the space is much too small for both... Items served in paper products, no care in preparation of the cherry stone, lobster bisque, and crab roll made for a disappointing meal. Hair-like substance in the horse radish was explain twice as a recognized problem with horseradish product. Yet, there seemed no concern to remedy that problem. Restaurants should realize that people do not want to eat items that... More

We ate lunch here with our teenage daughter. We were seated immediately but you can tell this place is popular and it does fill up fast. I don't eat seafood so I had the Margherita pizza with pepperoni which was good. My daughter ordered the hot dog which came with a stuffie (seafood type stuffing) on the side. My husband... More

I sampled the low fat clam chowder and the crab cakes on the 4th of July. We came early (11:30AM) to avoid the crush of the 4th of July crowd. The service was good and the food even better. The clam chowder was good. The Crab Cakes were the best I've ever eaten.

Legal Sea Foods is the only restaurant where we will eat raw shellfish. We have full confidence in the freshness and quality. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The fried clams are wonderful and the lobster pie is very hearty and rich. Can be very noisy and small tables. Don't get your hopes up for a waterfront... More

Staying in Seaport District / South Boston Waterfront

Neighborhood Profile
Seaport District / South Boston Waterfront
This area has been expanding and becoming more and more popular, for good reason. Not surprisingly, the seaport district of South Boston is located beautifully along the water. The area is designed for easy strolling along the HarborWalk, and there are bars and restaurants for all ages and budgets. The Institute of Contemporary Art is located in this area in a contemporary building with an absolutely stunning deck overlooking the water. In the summer time there are Friday music concerts on the deck of the museum. Nearby, there are many green spaces to enjoy.
