Overall the quality of the food was poor, the dessert was poor quality, and the appetizers leave much to be desired! The wine selection was very limited and the wait for the meal was very slow! I have spent 100 US dollars for two in much better restaurants and this one is a big marketing hype!

We walked in and immediately the smell of chocolate hit you. It was fantastic. I ordered a grilled chicken panini and waffle fries, they were DELICIOUS! The dessert menu was so extensive and looked fantastic, I was too full from my meal to order any of it. I will definitely be back and order a crepe!

After loving breakfast here 3 years ago, we brought out of town friends for breakfast before the duck tour. Super disappointing. Chocolate pancakes were horrible and not as described in the menu, eggs were very dry, service not good. Lots of better options in Boston.

I would've given 5 stars, but we waited a very long time for our lunch, and the place wasn't even busy. With that aside, this restaurant has a great selection of food, drinks and desserts. We were there during Restaurant Week Boston and enjoyed a fabulous 3-course meal for $20, which made our bill for my family of 5 very... More

All four of us loved our entrees! Quick service, pleasant atmosphere & a delicious aroma of chocolate upon your arrival. One mistake we made was finishing our entire entrees, too full for dessert, next time we'll start with dessert!

I have yet to have a full meal here but their desserts and drinks are fabulous! I love the chocolate fondue, and the chocolate martini. Soooooo good! If you're a chocolate lover, this place is a must.

The execution of each entree is beautiful. The crepes were (I had strawberries and bananas in my chocolate crepe) tasty. The Italian hot chocolate was creamy as advertised. I felt as if I went to beautifully catered birthday party and I was sole participant. I would recommend this place for couples, friends and families. However, it won't stop me for... More

Went there for a brunch/lunch. We had panini, crepe and chicken wings. The place looks poorly maintained and not properly cleaned (feels sticky since the moment you pull the front door). They could not produce a decent fountain diet coke (was super flat); when asked if they had another soda gun, they apparently had but waiter was not in the... More

Although they serve meals, I recommend this place for their chocolate. I tried the peanut butter hot chocolate and it was delicious. So good that I plan to go back one more time for it before leaving the city. The staff was friendly and passionate about the menu items and drinks. I can't wait to go back and try more... More

Max Brenner, Chocolate by the Bald Man, the first restaurant entirely devoted to chocolate, provides a "chocolate mood:" a person being surrounded by huge bricks, candles, pralines, colorful toy tins and crates filled with cocoa beans. Each person"s chocolate experience is exclusive to the individual as it brings out different emotions in each and every person. This can be experienced at our retail shop and dining room. In addition to our unique chocolate, we also offer delicious savory foods. Whether it is our famous Brenner Burger or Mac & Cheese, there will be something for everyone in the group!

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
