Went here with some friends for dinner. Good food and we were too full for dessert. The fondue looked delicious though!

Although this restaurant was highly recommended, I was very disappointed in the service. The food was very good, and the chocolate martini was heavenly! We were here the evening of July 4 and the restaurant was only half full at our reserved time of 8 pm. Our waitress took our order but we didn't see her again for about an... More

Brunch is great. We are less enthusiastic about lunch. Certainly nothing healthy on the menu, but flatbreads and hamburgers and salmon entree are all very good. Pretty noisy but that is part of the fun. Great for kids but average for Boomers

We had salad and sandwiches. Salad was pretty good - Cubano waffle sandwich was okay - needed something. Ordered bonbon plate which is 6 different bonbons. The 70% choc one we liked. The rest we were indifferent to. Perhaps you will like them better. The service was great - just somewhat disappointed in the food.

This place was amazing and has the most adorable containers for their beverages. I had the Peanut Butter Turtle Chocktail. Too bad i had eaten earlier or I would have ordered more. I'll definitely be dreaming about this place until I return.

After sitting for 15-20 minutes we finally got someone to bring us water. The service was inattentive at best. The wait staff was polite but they seemed understaffed. That said the chocolate fondue was good; the brownies and cakes for dipping were average. The chocolate-cherry waffle was very good. Mexican hot chocolate was also good. If you have time for... Stopped in for coffee and this is a really quirky spot. There is chocolate everywhere and even though it was busy the young lady working the bar kept us entertained and service was outstanding.

We dropped in for desserts - what a great decision! The ones we chose were marvellous - and huge - each one would have served two people. Definitely not cheap, but worth it!

This is Max Brenner's so why on earth would you order a burger? Skip the chicken fingers and go straight for any of the waffle goodness. Waffle sandwiches, waffles on salads and, of course, waffle desserts. We loved them all ... especially the Chocolate Cherry Waffles. Service for our large party was spectacular! We'll be back!

This restaurant is busy for sure. And everything comes across as a bit messy and sticky - with all the desserts and menus that don't seem clean. The place just looks like it needs a really good cleaning everywhere. The food was acceptable in terms of what we ordered, but everything just seemed quite greasy. Would not return. We were... More

Description
Max Brenner, Chocolate by the Bald Man, the first restaurant entirely devoted to chocolate, provides a "chocolate mood:" a person being surrounded by huge bricks, candles, pralines, colorful toy tins and crates filled with cocoa beans. Each person"s chocolate experience is exclusive to the individual as it brings out different emotions in each and every person. This can be experienced at our retail shop and dining room. In addition to our unique chocolate, we also offer delicious savory foods. Whether it is our famous Brenner Burger or Mac & Cheese, there will be something for everyone in the group!

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
