The oysters were great, so were the shrimp. We had to ask another patron for recommendations on the oysters. The bartenders were too busy, and the one who waited on us had an attitude. We finished our apps and left. The lobster bisque had great flavor, but was really oily for some reason. Atmosphere was cool, but not cozy. Hostesses... More

Boston is a seafood town and Island Creek is the best place to sample them, as fresh as they get. The place is hip and energetic with a great wine list and friendly and helpful service. We love it. Dinner or brunch on weekends.

Met Brendan our first visit, each time we came back he greeted us and made us feel so welome, our last dinner he pre-arranged a reservation for us prior to our Giants/Red Sox game. Notified his staff to take good care of us. How sweet is that!!

Great wine selection (even if the menu is hard to read), great food, great service. I had the pressed short rib sandwich, my friends had the lobster roll. All the food was delicious. The waiter was accommodating and helpful in our quest for a good rose!

Very nice atmosphere, we sat at the bar and the staff was very helpful in selecting beverages and oysters. The oysters were very fresh and tasty. The bar area is very light and airy with a cool but not over-the-top vibe. We would definitely go back.

Island Creek Oyster Bar is a wonderful combination of old school quality and new age decor and charm. The owners obviously sank a ton of time, effort and money into the design and construction of this restaurant and similarly retained quality staff. It's a busy, energetic setting that may not be for everyone, but it was great for us.

This is a wonderfully designed restaurant, and the food was excellent! We began with three different local varieties of raw oysters recommended by our server. Then we had the typical New England fare of Clam Chowder and Lobster Roll with Cole Slaw and Chips. So delicious!

This restaurant is s true gem in a city where there are many similar themed restaurants to choose from. The menu reads really well with shellfish and seafood starters and entrees you expect in a city like Boston, the food is delicious, the ambiance and each employee working there actually cares and a terrific wine menu as well. The best... More

Staying in Fenway / Kenmore

Neighborhood Profile
Fenway / Kenmore
The Curse of the Bambino may have ended years ago, but loyal Red Sox fans will continue to infiltrate this home to historic Fenway Park, where you can find victory banners, people yelling in stereotypical Boston accents, and lots of sports bars. Located within Kenmore Square, the old gas station Citgo sign is another Boston skyline classic seen throughout the city. In addition to a hectic and diehard sports mentality, this neighborhood is also home to some of Boston’s many universities. Move from Boston University territory to that of Northeastern, and spend time at the famous Museum of Fine Arts. For more culture, check out the smaller but equally beautiful Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Continue off the beaten path and check out the green space in the Back Bay Fens, a pretty community garden. This diverse neighborhood has a mix of universities, sports, culture, and more residential green space.
