We stopped for lunch here when we were following the Boston Freedom Trail. The food was great and the portions were large. The beer was good and in plentiful supply! The staff was friendly and fast and we had a great experience. It was excellent to see the history of the place on display and the stories of the pubs... More

Atmosphere was nice, quite crowded. Bald bartender server was efficient and no nonsense with the drinks. High bar prices even for downtown Boston. Waitress serving seemed to be really working hard.

We dined here for lunch on New Year's Eve. The place was hoping. Service was slow with only one waitress serving the entire dining room but the delicious food made it worth the wait. Appetizers were good and the Beef Stew was excellent. Drinks were good too. You must try this historical tavern at least once while in Boston.

Decent food, high bar prices but this is Boston. Good Guinness, good service. Historic district of Faneuil Hall etc.

This place seems short on staff (one waiter for the whole place) He did the best he can but makes a lot of mistake on the order. It wasn't too long to have our food. One of the baretender was really rude with us when we didn't know if we have to wait to be seated. The bathroom was really... More

We called in to have a drink and order food. However, after buying drinks at the bar, my wife who was sat at a table, was told by a member of staff that the table was waiter service only. She explain that I was at the bar. We were then completely ignored and we drank our drinks and left never... More

I was up in Boston, MA area in Aug. 2015 for a quick business trip. Being a lover of seafood and history, I was looking forward to a good dinner and 'living history'. We decided to go to the Union Oyster House in North End of Boston, which bills itself as America's Oldest Restaurant. However, we had our concerns since... More

Loved the history of the tavern. Even though the current tavern is in a new location I could still feel the history. We got a great seat and there was a lot energy due to a Red Sox - Yankees game on the tube.

Enjoyed a drink with my wife while making our way to the north end. If you're lucky enough, get a seat by the window for some good people watching,

Frankly, we stopped here because of the name. It was pretty busy and crowded, with some live music. It was certainly a hopping place, but not quite what we were looking for, having young children with us. Despite that we stayed and had a good time. Service was a little slow, but not bad given the crowd. The drinks and... More
