I knew I would be dining with friends for just one evening on this trip so I did some tee arch and narrowed down all the restaurants in Boston to just three, Deuxave, Mooo and Puritan & Co and chose Deuxave not only because it was actually the closest to where I was staying but also because the menu had... We were greeted very warmly, and were seated at a corner table. The hostess knew it was our anniversary and the staff went out of their way to make it special. We started with the The Night Moves Lobster with Gnocchi which was so flavorful and delicious. The 9 hour French Onion Soup was so flavorful and hearty. Both the... More

Nicole our server guided us to the lobster gnocchi and duck. The food was fantastic. As good as anything in Boston with a casual upscale feel. We ate indie but outside looked great as well.

We dined at Deuxave and really enjoyed our meal. The only criticisms we have are that the he server could have been a little more friendly, and the service was a little slow. Otherwise, it was a really pleasant evening. The four of us all ordered different appetizers and entrees. They were all delicious. The restaurant was very busy so... More

Deuxave totally lived up to the excellent reviews. The decor was all clean lines but felt airy and open. Our waitress Nicole gave us the most personal and patient service. She explained the specials in detail and never rushed or bothered us. The special apptetizer was fresh crab in creme fraiche and then gaspacho was poured in the bowl. It... More

Went there for my graduation dinner. The whole evening I felt like being home (just the Seine river was missing). The cuisine is french contemporary (and the portions are european size, thank god!). I recommend sitting outside in the small "garden". Though it's next to two big avenues, there isn't much noise, but it's a lovely atmosphere with the fairy... More

We been this restaurant last year when we dropped off our kid to college. Honestly I didn't like it that much. But I did change my opinion after this visit. We sit outside the patio section, the decorations are beautiful. We ordered foie gras and salad as started, then halibut and duck breast. Very tasty. Our server was great too.... More

I am really fond of this restaurant and resent being forced to compose a dialogue for it. Yes, I really like it.

Co-Owners Brian Piccini, Executive Chef Christopher Coombs & General Manager/Sommelier Jason Irving are proud of their award winning Restaurant & Bar, Deuxave in the Back Bay. The inspiration behind the restaurant's American Nouveau Cuisine is seasonality, with a focus on working with the finest farms and purveyors, sourcing out the freshest, local ingredients and amplifying their magnificence. The cuisine is strongly rooted in the nouvelle techniques of contemporary French cuisine, married with the splendor of American ingredients in a refined, but casual setting. Deuxave's (pronounced doo-ave) name plays homage to its location at the corners of Commonwealth Ave and Massachusetts Ave.

Staying in Fenway / Kenmore

Neighborhood Profile
Fenway / Kenmore
The Curse of the Bambino may have ended years ago, but loyal Red Sox fans will continue to infiltrate this home to historic Fenway Park, where you can find victory banners, people yelling in stereotypical Boston accents, and lots of sports bars. Located within Kenmore Square, the old gas station Citgo sign is another Boston skyline classic seen throughout the city. In addition to a hectic and diehard sports mentality, this neighborhood is also home to some of Boston’s many universities. Move from Boston University territory to that of Northeastern, and spend time at the famous Museum of Fine Arts. For more culture, check out the smaller but equally beautiful Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Continue off the beaten path and check out the green space in the Back Bay Fens, a pretty community garden. This diverse neighborhood has a mix of universities, sports, culture, and more residential green space.
