Two of us dined here after seeing Monet's Immersion since it's a few steps away. We went for the Chef's Special and were served a 5 course meal of Italian delights. We did our best in finishing the selection of 4 appetizers, then pasta bolognese...and crab ravioli topped with shrimp. Next came the sea bass which could have easily ended our meal but the beef tenderloin was the next course. Dessert was a selection of 4 choices, each would have been a full serving. The price of $100 per person is not steep for Boston pricing and the food could not have been finer. Our waiter David was helpful and professional. We cannot wait for a return meal.More

Went with my wife and daughter, really nice room, friendly staff, great service from Alejandro. Food was outstanding, cippolini and shrimp carbonara, perfect touch with the cream sauce, just enough! Looked nice for outside service too. Highly recommended!

I was expecting a really delicious meal and have to say it was just OK. The portions were average but the bolognese, which is signature dish, disappointed in taste and pasta being under cooked. Also, the price of bourbon was, I believe, out of line...at $24 a drink. The service was good, efficient and friendly. I would go back but have something else for dinner and definitely not order bourbon.More

I had the meatballs appetizer and pasta agilio e oleo for entree. The meatballs were bland and served in some thin tasteless tomato sauce that looked like it had been watered out. The pasta did not taste of garlic at all, the chicken was dry...and the sausage in it felt odd. Pasta was over cooked also. The whole place felt like a scam. The prices on the menu were cheaper than the end bill by. The bill had on avg two dollars higher price per item. This was before tips. I chalk it up to bad luck and leave the restaurant with my friends only to wake up at 3am projectile vomiting from food poisoning. Stay clear!!!More

Thanks to JetBlue, had to spend the night in Boston. Literally just walked into this place and ended up having one of the best meals ever. Everyone was very friendly and the food was outstanding.

I had the Bolognese with lamb, my wife had seafood pasta, both were excellent. I LOVED the Caesar salad. Atmosphere undramatic but very nice and comfortable. Server was great. Portions not massive but you will leave full. Prices appropriate for value received. I have only...two nits to pick, both with management: (1) we arrived at 5:30 on a Saturday for a 6:00 reservation. Place was still almost empty, but the host gave us a big hassle over changing our table assignment so that one of us wouldn't be facing a wall. (2) Check was paid via electronic gizmo. The gizmo offered up pre-calculated tips of 20%, 25% and 30% and option for other. This is psychological tactic based on the well known marketing phenomenon that most consumers gravitate to the middle option for anything. I wasn't swayed and entered our standard 20% for fine dining.More

Excellent food, great service, and very nice ambiance. The website had me questioning just how great it would be but everything that was served to our table was perfect. We went with some family before a show and it was a great start to the...evening.More

We used to get great service but if this is any indication of the service we had tonight then avoid this place. Where the food was great the service was non existent. Our food just sat at the window of the kitchen. Drinks sat on...the bar while our server was more involved in rearranging tables. Also, when you ask the host for your waiter and he blows you off and does nothing you know there is a problem. And I know people smoke but I don’t need my waiter to smell like an ashtray when the actually do serve me. I should not have to ask three people other then my waiter for service. So until they fix this issue avoid this place.More

Special Family meal. In town for a special event. Basile was accommodating on a busy evening. We enjoyed everything from drinks to crème brûlée.

I would not recommend this place. There are better places to eat. There are no refills (by design - they charge you for each), the food arrived burnt, and service left more to be desired. The place was empty, yet we were woefully ignored. All...the food was mediocre at best, especially for the price paid. Tip was already included with the bill, even for a small group. Usually, gratuity is only included with parties six or larger. We had five members in our family. I suppose that explains the poor service. I expected more from the high reviews. Beware! The food was good and service was very good overall. Room got very noisy when it was getting busy. Dinner rolls seemed store bought. The app., street corn was nothing special. The desserts were very pricey and sounded better than they tasted. But the main...courses were very good, steak and lamb chops.More

we made reservations for 7:45 AM - there were a lot of tables available. We were seated immediately. We opted to sit outside. The weather was great. They had MacAllen 15 single malt scotch whiskey which was great. The warm bread was awesome. we tried...the calamari and meatballs for the table. We also tried the Indian Fusion ravioli - and then we had lamb chops for the tables. The best part of the dinner was dessert. We had the chocolate soufle and apple struddle. They were both amazing. Service was great and the waiters and waitresses were very friendly. Top classMore

I don't mind paying for an expensive dinner... but serve me exquisite dishes. Dinner at Basile was expensively disappointing. $170 for 3 course meal with a glass of wine (for 2). I had never been served salty arugula salad that was almost inedible. Tiny chunks...of beet (possibly out if a can and not roasted); red onion everywhere; walnuts were not candied as described on the menu. Flavorless, cheap goat cheese. I can confidently say I could fix a better salad at home for a whole family, under $12. Main courses were ok. Pasta was good. But it's a fine Italian restaurant. Pasta better be good. Lamb chops: we've had better. Desserts were a joke if not an insult to "fine" cuisine. Vanilla créme bruleé was vanilla pudding straight out if a box. With fresh berries to embellish. Didn't do the trick. Tiramisu: no idea what was served in that small glass. A parfait of sorts made with cheap cream that almost tasted expired. I think there was a thin layer of bread/cake mildly soaked in coffee at the bottom. Service was attentive but a bit scattered. Several servers and the manager came to our table to confirm our order, an then it took a while for meal to be served. We had an exquisite dinner at Basile's a year prior to the pandemic. In comparison, this was an extremely disappointing experience. Dinner this week seemed like a restaurant making huge strides to stay afloat. I hope Basile's survives and figures out a way to get back to serving fine cuisine.More

We were recently in Boston for a college tour and our hotel was a block from this restaurant. Short on time, we snagged a table on OpenTable just minutes before we wanted to dine and were pleasantly surprised with our meal and service. Chicken Piccata...and Chicken Parmesan were both solid choices. We would return if ever in this area of Boston again. I do want to mention that prior to booking I read several reviews re: the management and I understand the complaints. When we booked our table for 2 there were several tables for 4 open; however, when we got to the restaurant and asked if we could change and add 2 people to our party we were immediately told no with the explanation that they were fully booked. From our table we confirmed that tables were open and visually we could confirm the same. Our friends simply stood outside and booked another two top and dined across from us. There seems to be an atmosphere with management that refusing requests makes it appear you are more popular and in demand than you actually are. This is sad b/c the food and staff service were excellent so if customer service became a priority all of the tables may actually be full 🤷🏼‍♀️More
