It is the philosophy of BarLola, where one can simultaneously drink, enjoy Spanish music, mingle, and eat ones way round a wonderful gastronomic spectrum. It is our goal to make sure that we only serve authentic dishes that are as close to the original presentation and taste as those you would find in different regions of Spain. We have a fantastic selection of wines, cavas, beers, and other signature cocktails to accompany your meal. We make every effort to ensure that the majority of our key ingredients are imported from Spain. Our kitchen team members come from Spain, descendants of Spain or of Latin ancestry to ensure authenticity and standards. ***NOTE: Every Sunday evening we have live Flamenco shows Sunday Night at 8pm. Cozy Tapas and Wine on Comm Ave

With a fine range of Mediterranean Wines and good Tapas dishes, this is a good place for larger group get togethers. We had five couples at a long table in a side room and very good service and an enjoyable time. The dishes were not special but more pub level and tasty. We tried a wide range of... read more

We were looking for a Back Bay restaurant that was open on xmas eve, where we could go after the Nutcracker and before all the traditional events in Boston offers that evening. This place was perfect, since tapas are ideal for an early supper. We started with the red sangria. Delicious! Also heavenly were the patatas aioli, and the ravioli... More

They have nice outside seating here and the wait staff was nice. The food was just ok though. We did not like the sauces on the pork or beef tenderloin. There was also a chicken with mustard and mushrooms that we didn't really like that much either.

Been here a few times for dinner and finally decided to write up a review. The tapas here really are fantastic - as close to having them in Spain. The recipes are very authentic and fresh. We've never had a dish we were disappointed with. A huge plus is the wonderful outdoor patio that stays cool even on the hottest... More

Spanish tapas is slow food... Bar Lola... Nice location, however the service is too fast and the food too salty, we had not finished our first glass of wine, all the tapas ordered were already on the table... The location is great... We could go back, but ask for a slow service

We met friends for dinner one Saturday night at the end of last September, when the weather was still warm enough to sit outside. We immediately fell in love with the ambiance of the patio part of this restaurant. Bar Lola's is a subterranean restaurant located in the basement of the old Hotel Vendome. While we often dine outside at... More

Came to my regular haunt, which is usually pretty good. Arrived for a table and they put name down. Went to bar and got a whole lot of attitude and never got a table. Not a good way to treat a regular and local customer...there food is just not that good to be so arrogant Not recommended

I sat outside one Friday evening in June and had an enjoyable and relaxing meal. Commonwealth Street is fairly quiet for downtown Boston and there wasn't a lot of street noise. The bar has an extensive menu and a good wine list. The marinated olives were very nice as was the salmon. Service was a bit iffy but got better... More

Came here Friday night and sat outside. This restaurant is on my street and always walked by and thought it would be over-priced and poor but i was wrong. Service is friendly but slightly slow and the tapas was very tasty. I think stick to the smaller dishes. Lamb cutlets, Duck with orange and the squid filled with fish, were... More

I was looking in the area for a restaurant to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. It was the ONLY restaurant in the Back Bay area interested enough in offering me their services. They were very accommodating. All my guests were very happy with the service and quality of the food. I ordered the meatballs, empanadas both chicken and beef, the... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
