Popped in here for wrap for lunch and excellent service - wide choice but I went for a chicken wrap and it was delicious. The falafel looked good and the tahini and salad all fresh . Freshly prepared, chicken tasty and a great stop near Boston Common . If you want a decent lunch , at a decent price $... More

This place is located on Tremont St, near Boston downtown crossing. When one enters, this place doesn't look like much. It's small, cozy place with basic tables and walk up ordering in a regular location. Just as your average breakfast and lunch sandwich shop. But I must admit that food is delicious. The food is always cooked to order and... More

We were looking for pretty much anything to eat after three hours waiting for / watching the 4th of July flireworks. Just when we'd almost given up, we saw the lights on at Blackseed. For how hectic and busy they were, the staff were friendly and the falafel wrap was really, really good. Cheap eats with fresh veggies, herbs and... More

I loved this place! One of the best vegetarian burgers I've ever had. And it was really cheap comparing to other places - 7 dollars for a big burger and a lot of fries. Mhmmm... Wish I lived in Boston ;-).

This is an awesome little cafe, great menu and super affordable. We ate here for breakfast after passing all the chain options and so glad we did. The place was clean and staff very friendly. Breakfast was cheap and plentiful, eggs, bacon, toast, potatoes and fruit all delicious. The hot chocolate was excellent too.

In March, I traveled to the 42nd NSBE Convention in Boston, Massachusetts. It was my first visit to Boston. I stayed at Hyatt Hotel – Downtown. There were numerous restaurants and activities to keep yourself busy in downtown. I was looking for a good, affordable place for breakfast. I came across the Black Seed Café & Grill for breakfast. In... More

We were looking for a quick bite before the theater. This place was perfect. So many great choices. I had a chicken portabella hot wrap with spinach and balsamic. Absolutely delicious. My date had a grilled lamb hot wrap, which included lettuce, feta, scallions, red pepper and tomato. He also loved his. Would definitely go back.

Boston can be an expensive place to dine, but there are low budget options with decent food. I was looking for some breakfast that wasn't the expensive hotel type, or captive audience at a convention center that was close to me. Black Seed Cafe fit the bill, it is off the Boston Commons and I would say probably a place... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
