I am from Spain and i can tell you I think this is the most authentic Spanish restaurant in Boston! The food was delicious and the menu as close to a Spanish menu as I've seen here! This is why it's my favorite from all the Spanish restaurants here! This time we sat at the bar, and loved that experience... More

We were looking for a light meal and searched for Tapas. Estragon came up as an option and it was nearby. The bartender was friendly and the drinks were generous The atmosphere was OK although it was a Wednesday night and it seemed like the kitchen staff were ready to go by 9pm. We liked the fried artichokes and the... More

Lots of good things on the menu (which is pretty dynamic). The crispy brussel sprouts with hazelnuts were delicious, the stuffed dates (to be honest, I wasn't a big fan of the cod fritters.. sometimes they can taste a little "low tide") but the tortilla (potato dish) was one of the best I've had. Absolutely delicious. A pear martini was... More

Been here now 3 times and never disappointed. The food is outstanding and generous for tapas. The menu is designed to take you on a 2+ hour journey of various tastes while sipping on well matched wines. Staff is very friendly and the chef takes pride in his work.

Nicely prepared tapas in a large, industrial style space. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food is well prepared and very fresh. Prices are a little on the high side and the tapas combo will serve 2. Paella is nicely prepared but could have been cooked longer to create a crust. Meat tapas are standouts.

My friends and I dine at Estragon at least 4 or 5 times a year, so understand we don't dislike the place. It's got a relaxed vibe, you usually can get a table without much of a wait, and some of the waiters have been there so long you feel like you're seeing an old friend. It wins as a... More

We walked the galleries a few blocks away, then wandered in at Estragon for dinner. We had a beet salad, chicken empanadas, and fried pork, along with a good bottle of Spanish wine. Good find in the South End. Convenient to buses.

Full disclosure that it was Dine Out Boston week so there was a special fixed price menu, but that just made the price better. There were still tons of the tapas to choose from. The tapas are large portions so able to be shared. I loved that the cocktails had many exotic ingredients. I had a cava with apricot and... More

Staying in South End

Neighborhood Profile
South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.
