On Coxe Ave close to other bars, breweries, and restaurants in the area. I tried the Brett Farmhouse beer flight and really enjoyed all four that I had. They also have some wines and specialty cocktails. The food was great, mainly bar bites and sandwiches....Try the naan flatbread 😋More

deathcab4kati, thanks for stopping by the Funkatorium and providing a great review! Thanks for pointing out that we also serve wine and cocktails, as well as clean beer--some people assume we only serve sour beer. Come back soon! Cheers!

We stopped in for a round of drinks, and the place is very cute, I had the Starry Night, and my husband had a beer! It’s worth checking out.

Really enjoyed the food and a great assortment of draft beers. Stopped at their other location a few blocks away and had a great cider beside the firepit. Nice staff who are all very helpful.

We came here for a beer and we’re impressed by the food menu. The “pub grub” far exceeded our expectations! Really enjoyed the vegetable options, such as the picked veggie plate, kale Caesar salad, and the sautéed sprouts. Also highly recommend the crispy satay sandwich...and smoked trout dip. Oh, and the beer and cocktails were good too.More

First stop of an afternoon of brewery hopping for my anniversary with my husband. This was such a cute location. The beer was good, but the pretzel was the best!

We were walking back from the Christmas Day parade and decided to stop here to grab a beer. They have a large selection and seem to specialize in Sours. They have some options that are mild, but the focus of their selection is on Sours....I am not a huge fan of sours and I did give it a shot, but not my cup of tea. The location had a great vibe and was very spacious. They have an indoor area with one of the largest screens I've seen at a brewery which is great for a game (as long as its the game you were interested in.More

We came here because we did the tour at wicked weed up the road and got a free 4oz taster for here. There was a line when we showed up and once we got seated we saw a lot of open tables. So unsure what...the line was for. The service was bad and very slow. Especially just to get two 4oz pours. People walked in and sat themselves while we were seated, so didn't know if that was what we should have done from the start. They started creating another line in the front when there were tons of empty seats. Idk if they were trying to create a false demand or they were short-staffed. The outdoor seating was massive. The fries were very undercooked and trash. They did have separate bathrooms.More

This is my favorite Asheville brewery because I love sour beers and nowhere else is there such a variety to choose from (and the option of flights!). Service is great. Bathrooms are clean. Food is good. Only complaint is the bachelorette party soundtrack music selection...on the weekend evenings. This is Asheville, there's so much better music to choose from.More

I had been laid off in July. So I chose to brighten my spirits by traveling. I honestly didn’t know the Funkatorium existed. But this trip taught me that I do love sour beers. I came strolling in as clueless as a newborn. The only...thing I was sure of was the fact of my ignorance. The waitress asked me if I’d like a drink. I said “do you have any sours?” She kindly turned the menu over and said “all those flights are different sours”. I’m not a man that fancies himself religious. But I certainly had an epiphany that day. I no longer remember the food I’d eaten there. It was delightful but unfortunately my mind only fiends for the sweet embrace of those enticing sours. I spent 4 days in Asheville. I went to the Funkatorium 3 of those days. I don’t want it to seem like sours are your only option. Wicker Weed makes many tasty beers. But if you like sours, their sours are life affirming. Ownership of The Funkatorium, while you may never expand to St. Louis, please know you’ll always hold a special place in my heart.More

Came here during the day with a relatively large group of ten. They were able to seat us immediately in their courtyard. The sour beers were incredible, with the full group ordering flights. Service at the table was very quick and accommodating, making for a...great experience.More

The area is loaded wth local micro-brews so getting a growler filled should not be a problem. Maybe just not the Funkatorium.
