This restaurant seems to have lost its edge. The last time we were there we had a great meal, not so much this time. I had the trout which was overcooked but palatable. It came with mashed sweet potatoes and green beans. I am a...decent home cook and could have prepared the whole meal at home, no problem. What I am looking for when I go out to dinner is something I can't, or don't, prepare at home. This wasn't it. My spouse had the seafood stew. The sauce was too thick, almost like spaghetti sauce. The bread pudding for dessert was outstanding, that I wouldn't have made, but it was only dessert. All in all, the experience was just okay. I expected more from them.More

We spent the night across the street at the Hampton Inn and walked over here at the recommendation of our hotel clerk. OMG........the absolute best shrimp n grits ever:) Our server Lee was exceptional. Can't wait to eat here again on our return trip!

Based on a friend's recommendation we made reservations at the Corner Kitchen in Asheville. We started with a couple of Manhattans, very good! Order the two specials, sweet potato and ginger soups and then the chicken special for the evening. Awesome taste and lentils were...superb!!! Ended with desserts. Jerry was our server and he was the best!!!! We will be back the next time we are in Asheville.More

Terrific food, great atmosphere, very friendly staff. Our server, Josh, was very helpful and accommodating. Found this place by accident, but will definitely come back when we are here again

Another recommended restaurant by friends and glad we snagged a table. It's near the Biltmore entrance and it was walkable from our hotel. Reservations are hard to come by but again, we were lucky to get one albeit earlier than what we originally wanted (5:45...pm). Atmosphere is fun, great service, and food was delicious!! We split the watermelon salad and the lamb meatballs - both were excellent!! My wife had the pecan crusted trout and I had the coulotte steak. Again, both were properly prepared and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal along with a nice bottle of wine. Highly recommend Corner Kitchen and you won't be disappointed.More

Delightful find in Biltmore Village shopping area. This sweet restaurant is in a two-storyt old house, delightfully appointed with a porch with ferns, flowers in front, brick sidewalks, etc. And it is on the corner. We had brunch on a Friday, and we were served...at our reservation time. Our server, Josh, was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive; he was well-versed with the menu and helped us make delicious selections. There are varied options (we had salads and egg dishes) but everything coming out of the kitchen looked delicious (sandwiches, burgers, French toast...). We finished our meal with banana bread pudding with salted caramel ice cream! You should get THAT! Prices were reasonable for the area and the serving sizes. The food was promptly served, the noise level allowed for good conversation. They even allowed us to place two suitcases by their hostess stand during our meal b/c we were headed to the airport (but this was a crowded area so ASK before you try that!!!). But they really listen and accommodate customer requests. It is a friendly, energetic atmosphere. A bit of warning: many steps -- including to go upstairs to the bathrooms, so it didn't APPEAR to be easy to navigate if you have mobility concerns. (I'd check before going if stairs are a concern). I would absolutely return here if we were traveling to Asheville again. It is a very quaint spot with lots of character, and the food was delicious. Area shopping is quite cute with similar style buildings (and mobility issues!) so this is really a destination area.More

My husband and I had a terrific meal at the Corner Kitchen. He had the seared scallops (very tasty) and I had the crabcake appetizer and heirloom tomato salad. They very kindly treated us to an off-menu plate of fried oysters that really made the...meal. For dessert we had the blueberry and peach galette - scrumptious. We also had a lovely bottle of chardonnay that really complemented the meal. Our server was attentive and friendly but didn't hover or rush us. Treating us to oysters was a wonderful surprise and a very special touch. The restaurant is located in an historic building. We'll definitely eat at the Corner Kitchen again when we're back in Asheville.More

We visit the Corner Kitchen on most visits to Asheville. It has a rich heritage in an original Biltmore Village building. On this visit we were visiting with family and thoroughly enjoyed the setting, the food and the service. Sitting in the bar area it...was cooler which was good on this warm summer day. Our waiter was very good and attentive. On Sunday it is Brunch Sandwich menu. The Lobster Roll was very good and hamburger cooked to order. The Brunch egg dishes were also very good. It was a bit noisy in this room, otherwise very comfortable.More

I’ve been to Corner Kitchen at least a half dozen times as I live about an hour and a half from Asheville. Every time I’ve gone I’m less pleased. Eclectic menu with little that entices me. It’s pricey which I’m not adversed to, butjust not...worth it. Not sure how it’s gets such a good overall rating.More
