The breakfast was excellent and it was worth the 30-45 minute wait. It seems that you have to get there early and plan ahead as to your level of hunger. They do have coffee while you wait, but it was so busy when we were there that the coffee pot went unrefilled for quite a while. At least you know... More

My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant while vacationing nearby. Great find! So tired of the same kind of food everywhere else. I ordered sweet potato black bean cakes with sides of collards and Mac and cheese - everything was so delicious!! We came at an odd time and every employee was still very kind and cheery. :-)

This is a popular eating spot for locals. Great comfort food. Breakfast is served all day. Specials every day. Small and comfortable atmosphere in Downtown Asheville.

We started our day in Asheville with breakfast here. I had read about the wait times, but we were pleasantly surprised to find no wait on a Tuesday morning at 9:30am. By the time we left, there was a line out the door. Everything my family ordered was good in terms of the eggs, bacon and grits, but what really... More

We went on a Saturday in the fall (heavy tourist time for Asheville) and the wait was two hours. We were prepared for that and shopped around while we waited. Once inside the building is quaint and comfortable, although the restroom situation is awkward. The food was OK. I had the grilled pimento cheese and it was very greasy. We... More

With so many choices in Asheville, this one must be the first on your list. The unique farm to plate options in a laid back atmosphere were so refreshing during the hustle of the Christmas holiday. We had great service and amazing meals. The fresh biscuits with fresh jelly were icing on the cake (I never eat jelly..until now). I... More

40 minute wait. Slow service. Perhaps we chose poorly as we both chose vegetable plates. Mac and cheese-good but nothing spectacular, black eye peas was good, honeyed beets and sweet potatoes were both extremely bland, collard greens were excellent, cabbage with walnuts disappointing, corn bread ok. Chocolate banana cake with vanilla icing was good but nothing to write home about.... More

After we received our fairly burned appetizer of broccoli hushpuppies, we weren't sure what to expect (maybe they were blackened?). The appetizer was served with apple butter and creamy garlic to dip in. (broccoli and apple butter?) We settled on chicken and bacon salads and requested a Roquefort or a ranch type dressing with blue cheese added. Not possible-either a... More

Local, healthy Southern cooking, strongly recommend. It's worth a wait, ( usually there is 20-45 minutes wait). Sweet potato and sausage omelet worth a try

What you would expect from a breakfast place--with added funkiness. Food was good. Will return the next time we're in Asheville.
