Great food and ambiance. My only criticism was that the hostess wasn’t very friendly, made us feel she was doing us a huge favor by getting us a table and it wasn’t even that busy when we went.

Went to Zambra with another couple to celebrate a birthday and an anniversary. We were promptly seated. Only one list of the daily specials was left at our table. Of course, we asked that everyone have one. Began with a house salad. The very nice...More

Allow me to respond to your concerns. First, I apologize your experience was a disappointment to you and your party. About the particulars, specials menus should be inserted into the menu de la noche cover before each shift, insuring each guest gets one. I will...More

We had not eaten at Zambra for a couple of years, since many new restaurants in Asheville are offering small plates now. Last night we enjoyed boqurones with tomatoes, spring rolls, octopus, gnocchi, and good beer and cocktails. We left feeling satisfied that our old...More

Every dish was wonderful. We were able to try several different dishes since this is a Tapas restaurant.

Terrible service! Delivery of tapas were almost thrown at our table by a "mad at the world" type of person. Long delay in getting final plate. I think we were forgotten! Plate came out cold. Possibly the worst restaurant in Asheville.More

This needs to be addressed. If you could give me more information about your visit, I need to look into this. Could you describe the "mad at the world" person? I can't figure out who that would be. I truly apologize if we were busy...More

We selected this place based on Trip Advisor reviews but were a little disappointed with the food. It was sort of hit and miss with the small plates we tried. The mussels were good but the grilled shrimp was overcooked. The poblano corn chowder was...More

July 29, 2018 We had 5 items: grilled eggplants, sauteed chickpeas, grilled peppers, grilled beef hangar steak, fried potatoes (Patatas Bravas). They were among the only items that could meet our shared requirements - gluten-free and seafood free. All five items were excruciatingly boring in...More

My wife and I visited for dinner and were impressed. Good selection of tapas and small plates, though less Spanish than I expected. The food was good and service friendly and well-paced. Very extensive wine list.

In Asheville for a couple days and a friend recommended we try Zambia’s. After reviewing the website and the reviews here I went into the visit “cautiously optimistic” as I have never been impressed with the tapas routine except when we were in Barcelona and...More

I would say probably not. It’s very European and I’ve never seen children there. Also has a busy bar scene.

Our dynamic menu is the passion of Executive Chef Adam. Adam has attained many influences through his training in Europe and New Orleans. Zambra is his modern vision of the tastes and flavors of the western Mediterranean: Spain, Portugal, Gypsy, and North Africa. As an appropriate accompaniment, we have assembled the region's finest selection of Spanish and New World wines. We have been awarded the Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence and our wine list has been voted the best in Asheville.
