I always eat at Isa's at least once when I'm in Asheville. The menu changes seasonally and always surprises with creatively delicious combinations of fresh ingredients. I highly recommend Isa's - you'll return again and again.

Isa's French bistro is amazing! Dinner was excellent and so delicious. We had the best time. Ordered the duck which so tender and bursting with flavor, it was accomplice with a delicious fried rice. Other's in the table ordered the award winner prime rib, the...scallops and the salmon. All looked amazing and everyone loved their selection. Had the parmesan fries, steak tartare and the mushrooms for appetizers. Atmosphere was great and very fun and casual for a French restaurant. It was not stuffy or snobby at all. They even had French music playing. Our group loved Isa's so much that we went back the next day for breakfast and two days later for brunch. Both were also spectacular. Isa's Bistro is a step above all the other Asheville restaurants in the surrounding area.More

We had the Isa's Salad and the Berry & Quinoa Salad for a light lunch. These were excellent salads with complex, delicious flavors. Topped it off with Marquise au Chocolat. Perfect!

I enjoyed a fabulous meal at Isa’s Sunday evening. The cedar plank Salmon Nicoise was beyond delicious. That, along with wine and chocolate mousse cake made for a memorable meal. From seating to food, drink and Nick as my server, it was impeccable. Thank you!

We ate here several times as we stayed in the hotel. Breakfast was eh. Avoid the eggs Benedict, it was pretty nasty with powdered Hollandaise sauce and skimpy at that. The french toast was good and my wife was kind enough to share hers with...me. The drink prices are ritzy ($$$) We went to dinner on Saturday and the prime rib was exquisite if a little over seasoned.More

We walked in without a reservation and sat at the bar. We had a very nice meal. It’s a large restaurant but with a low noise level. Good value for the price. Three meals for under $100

We decided to go to Asheville for July 4th weekend and ate here Sunday night. Food was delicious, atmosphere was relaxed and fun, staff knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant was located in the middle of town and easily in walking distance to everything. Highly recommend!

We eat at Isa’s at least once a year (often twice) on our annual family vacation from TN to NC OBX. The service is typically excellent and the food amazing. We ate there 2 weeks ago on the way to the beach and had a...fabulous experience. Our favorite meal is the PEI mussels. We get at least one order every visit. We ordered 2 orders for our party 2 weeks ago and the pots were full of fabulous mussels. We ordered one order tonight on our return visit and were totally disappointed. There were only 1/2 as many mussels in the pot as 2 weeks ago and a couple of them tasted “off”. An evening of being very sick in the hotel confirmed that they were, indeed, not as fresh as usual. Additionally, the service tonight was slow, inattentive, and terrible. Water glasses sat empty, and it was difficult to get any one’s attention for drink refills. We didn’t get plates for the mussels and had to take chargers out from under other dishes to use. It was a disappointing and miserable experience during and after the meal.More

This might get a bit long, because I want to give a perspective and setup for our visit to Isa’s French Bistro last night. That and I tend to be a bit loquacious anyway. We had worked as volunteers for a July 4th civic event...the night before, and weren’t sure if we’d be up for a night out to celebrate our 42nd anniversary. Once we decided to go out for dinner, we wanted something a little special. Over the past year, we have missed celebrating both of our birthdays and a few other occasions due to a serious medical condition, major surgery and lengthy treatment and recovery that I had gone through. Having no plans or reservations, we figured it might be difficult to get into any place really nice. Being a Tuesday, and with the workforce shortage a lot of places can’t stay open 7 days a week. We’re locals, and tend to shy away from downtown during times of high tourist influx. So, long story short…or is it already too late for that?...we were able to make a 5:30 reservation for dinner. We had never been to Isa’s in the past, but we had scanned through the menu on-line, and were happy enough with the choices. The parking gods smiled down on us and we found a spot just across the street from the restaurant; which in itself is a significant victory here in Asheville. They begin serving at 5, so the place was fairly empty when we arrived shortly before 5:30. We were seated at a nicely located table, kind of in a corner of one section, but by a window so we could enjoy a little people-watching…which became interesting when the rain started to pour down. The dining area has a very pleasant décor, subtly elegant and quite comfortable. Our waiter Matt appeared and offered us considerable information about the menu and took our cocktail orders. He turned out to be an excellent waiter; informative, friendly, good natured, highly professional and the perfect balance of attentiveness without being intrusive. He gave us an honest evaluation of the entrée choices, answered all our questions, offered suggestions and gave us insight to the preparation of the items we were interested in. We shared a fried stuffed mushroom appetizer, which was delicious. My wife ordered the salmon, after a fair amount of discussion and assurances from Matt that it would be to her liking. And of course, he was right…she raved about it all the way home and into the night. I’m fond of lamb chops, my wife not so much – so I don’t make them at home. I’ll often order them while out when I get the opportunity. These were without a doubt, the best lamb chops I’ve had in about two decades. The last time I had any that came close in comparison was at a hotel restaurant in Mexico (imagine that!) 20-some years ago. Our dinners were perfectly prepared, with very tasty and interesting accompaniments and splendidly presented. We enjoyed a leisurely dinner, along with a very nice bottle of Pinot Noir, which – for Asheville – was surprisingly reasonably priced. Matt brought us a deliciously decadent chocolate mousse dessert in honor of our anniversary. After two plus hours of relaxed and delicious enjoyment, the check came. No surprises. Not cheap, but in fact a relative bargain considering the quality of the food, service and ambiance. Over time, as you frequent various restaurants; there are some that you feel there’s never a reason to return to. Some that you think you wouldn’t mind doing again. And then – a few that intrigue and satisfy you to the point that you will definitely want to come back to. For us, Isa’s is in that latter category. Our thanks to the staff of Isa’s, especially to Matt and the chefs, for a truly memorable and enjoyable evening.More

Justin the waiter had an I don’t care attitude when told the coffee was awful. As he did when we asked for hot water for tea and it was barely warm. The eggs were hard when we asked for soft. And had to ask for...butter for toast. Then waited until we were almost finished before he brought it to the table.More

It's a take on a martini. We use raspberry vodka as the base, and then add passionfruit and sugar. It's a sweet and sour drink that's delicious.
