Was staying at the Renaissance Hotel so decided to grab dinner at their restaurant - Writers Bistro. The place was virtually empty, and we found out why - the food was very, very average. We had on a previous visit eaten breakfast at the Bistro that was very good, but forget it for dinner. The staff was very friendly and... More

We were staying at the Renaissance hotel and since we happened to be here when the polar vortex passed through we opted to stay out of the cold and dine here. We got to the dining room at 6:30 P.M. and we were the only patrons. There were only a couple of highlights here, one being our server and the... More

We ate here as part of our breakfast package with our hotel stay. I love fresh made omelettes. Their potatoes were those cut up and deep fried type instead of shredded. The bacon was crispy and good. The yogurt parfaits were sweet. There was so much fruit: strawberries, blueberries, watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, and honey dew melon. The chef said he... More

All I can say is ... This is one of the best places ... Great food and great service , totally go above and beyond . I don't need to be askin for anything ... They are on top of it, from just enjoying an amazing ribeye steak to a great selection of salads and sandwiches ... Once again... You... More

It's hard to judge a restaurant by a couple of poached eggs on toast. The restaurant was lovely, the service was great and the poached eggs were exactly what I asked for. My only complaint was the weak coffee and our server made a new pot with an extra strong brew. That is what I call excellent service.

It's not often I consider a breakfast to be dreadful. But i've never had something as horrible as their sweet potato pancakes. They had a sour taste akin to baking soda. I couldnt even finish them they tasted so bad. The corn flake french toast was extremely bland and dry. The bacon tasted like microwave bacon. The service was good,... More

There is something about hotel restaurant food like there is about airline food. What makes me mad when I eat there is the prices they charge for certain food items. Wouldn't mind if the food was good - I wouldn't mind, but the prices leave a sour taste in my mouth

As Platinum Marriott members staying at the Renaissance, we received a free continental breakfast here but took the $4 upgrade for the warm buffet and the made to order omelette, scrambled eggs and waffles. Well worth it as all were good and the biscuits and gravy were very good too. The staff was some of the best I have come... More

We had a lovely meal here while staying at the Renaissance Hotel. To begin we had the tomatoe and mozzarella salad, which had green as well as red tomatoes. The Appalachian salad featured greens, sliced almonds, cranberries and blue cheese. Yummy! For entrees we had the trout, which was beautifully presented and well prepared. Also we had a pasta with...
