Chestnut is an American restaurant. We are in a 1920s era building in downtown Asheville, right across for the Aloft hotel and the double decker coffee bus. Parking is plentiful (and cheap) at the public deck under the Aloft Hotel.
Went to Chestnut a year ago when we traveled to Asheville, and wanted to eat here again. As good or better this time. All the food was delicious -- beet salad, lobster bisque, ravioli, petite tenderloin. And then we were still hungry, so we had...More
Living in Asheville, I have eaten at Chestnut many times and the last few times it has been disappointing. Maybe it was summer or fall with lots of tourists and the restaurant got stressed. Who knows. I do know that my most recent dinner was...More
We were recommended this restaurant by the employees of the Mast General store, right down the street. We were seated right away to a cozy, two-person booth. The food was delicious and I was very satisfied with my apple-brie sandwich. When ordering, I was on...More
Let me just say I’m a newly diagnosed GLUTEN INTOLERANT so, finding a restaurant willing to cater to my dietary needs is extremely important now and Chestnut did cater to my needs by helping me pick out dishes that was it could be gluten free....More
I truly love how rustic and quaint the vibe is at Chestnut. What really pleased me was how friendly the host was and how friendly our waitress Michaela was. Not only was the vibe amazing the live music took me to another place. I felt...More

The menu is varied and appealing to many...More

Although Chestnut is downtown in Asheville, NC, and not close to the Biltmore House, their sister restaurant, called Corner Kitchen is closer in Biltmore Village. I have not been there, but it is farm to table and they are open for brunch, lunch and dinner. That would be another option for you if you want something closer and they do take reservations. Hope that helps.
