My husband and I had drinks and food here in a night out. We shared the bison nachos and the pb&j creme brulee. Both were excellent. I saw several other dishes at surrounding tables that looked great as well. My husband enjoys their selection of beers. We have been here a few times and will return!

We went in there on a Friday night for a beer and a bite. They had a great local string band playing great music and I had a Bison burger that was simply amazing and cooked perfect! I also was drinking a local Jalapeno IPA that I loved too! Great place!

Great atmosphere- basic pub fare. I had a pub burger and it was great. My husband got fish and chips and really enjoyed it. There's live Celtic music on Sundays which was excellent.

My niece and I had dinner here. She said the fish & chips were nothing special. She got 2 small pieces (about 3" long) of fish & a lot of fries. I had potato and leek soup & a daily special-lamb & mushroom poutine. Both were very good. The Irish band provided nice music.

Having returned to the USA after living 3 years in Ireland, I miss my Irish pub! Found this place on a trip to Western NC and went for the atmosphere and the tunes. Decor isn't much of anything, but the excellent moutain music session, friendly and efficient bartender Steven, and delicious Guinness and fish & chips were all that mattered!... More

The original home of Green Man Brewing, Jack of the Wood (there is no "s" on Wood -- so if you say "Jack of the Woods" we will know you are a tourist) is one of my favorite downtown spots. From Trivia Night on Monday to Celtic Jam on Sunday afternoons, this pub is a must see. Their beer selection... More

Typical downtown Asheville bar with booze, food, and bands on weekends. Good place to hang but gets pretty crowded before the band starts.

I love the atmosphere and the acoustics! The food is pretty darn good, too! Oh, and don't forget to leave your words of wisdom on the chalkboard walls in the restroom. That's a must.

My Friend and I enjoyed talking with one of the male bartenders on a slow night. We asked about the local beer and wine. He was soo nice to my friend who had some issues before hand.
