We celebrated my partner’s mom’s 80th birthday and the entire experience was incredible. We were greeted at the door within moments of walking in for our early (5:30 pm) reservation. The young lady who seated us noticed we had flowers for the birthday celebrant so...she got us some water to keep them fresh, and helped set them safely up so they wouldn’t get knocked around. She gave us exactly the right amount of time to select drinks, and brought us water without us having to ask (this has changed over time at a lot of places and was appreciated). The bartender made delicious cocktails, literally squeezing fresh juice for them. The fondue was so good, the portion ratio of fondue to dipping items was perfect, everything was fresh, and when we decided to have one more serving, Gabbie made sure we got exactly what we wanted. Dessert was simply spectacular and when Gabbie noticed I was attempting to roast my marshmallow (I was being a little silly) she brought over a couple more marshmallows and made our chocolate fondue into a flambé so we could all roast a marshmallow. Honestly, we felt like we were the only people in the room; the manager checked on us a couple of times, the bartender came over to check on drinks, and Gabbie kept the pacing of our meal perfectly on the right time. We really got to celebrate together and it was simply the best experience. We are all Asheville locals and know how the restaurant scene can be; our meal tonight wasn’t a performance for any of the staff, it was a genuine and much appreciated evening. This place is great, and anyone who has the chance to enjoy it, absolutely should. 10/10 recommend.More

First time eating here and will not be back. My wife and I wanted to try something new and went for a late lunch which happened to be during their brunch menu time frame. The restaurant was not that busy so we figured we could...grab lunch a drink and be on our way. Waited 15 minutes before anyone came to our table to greet us or take drink order then another 15 to get our drinks. The poor waitress was having to run the bar and wait several tables and this in no way reflects on her, she was doing the best she could. Management better wake up. Waited another 30 minutes on our fondue and at this point gave up on ordering an entree.. we wasted about 2 hours of our life and $36 on this place. Food? Fondue was good but the pretzel stick tasted as if it was from the freezer and not well toasted, the broccoli was brown and nearly rotten. I am shocked this place has 4+ stars it was terrible. I hope dinner is better here but I would skip their brunch.More

Came here and had a great time! The cheese fondue, made with Gruyère and Raclette, had satisfying depth and incredible complexity. The chocolate dessert was pure unbridled decadence. We loved everything we tried. The downtown location is perfect, offering a prime taste of what makes...Asheville a special place. Big thanks to manager Ron and server Hannah.More

We arrived at 8:50'ish I believe and karaoke was about to begin. We decided to sit in the bar area at the big windows on the high-top bar type tables that overlooked the outside sidewalk. There were 2 hostesses at the front desk, who seemed...more interested in their iPhone than guests. They walked us most of the way to where we were going to be seated, didn't give us silverware or even menus. We had to wait quite awhile for the lone bar-area waitress to tend to us and even bring us a menu. Beer took awhile to receive. The waitress apologized and said that normally the bar staff handles these tables. When the dining room area is mostly empty, like it was that night, and most of the patrons are sitting in the bar area, management should move the staff to help the bar staff. When the food arrived, the food-runner handed us the food, didn't ask if we needed anything and he turned and left so quickly, he didn't even hear me as I was trying to tell him we needed some silverware, napkins and some damn plates to eat on! This evening was so frustrating. We had such high hopes on our first visit to this type of Melting Pot in our own town! Not a good impression to make on locals. We won't be returning. The food was average.More

We had the BEST time here!!!! Jake invited us into the restaurant, and we ended up laughing with him pretty much the entire time we were there. He made me the best Lemon Drop I've ever had, and he also created a brand new drink...called the "broccoli shot" in honor of my single order of a side of broccoli. It was actually incredible 😂 PLEASE go into this restaurant and ask Jake to make you a broccoli shot. It will not disappoint - LOL. Just to add to all that, my roommate had the Caprese Panini, and said it was also fantastic. Great food, great company, great vibes. HIGHLY recommended!!! Jake is AWESOME and the broccoli shot is definitely a new core memory. 😂More

It goes without saying that the fondue at the Melting Pot was superb. After all, one would hope that it would be, given the namesake. Afterall, this was the benchmark expectation, and indeed it was met. However, what really made our evening was a surprise...from our waitress that there was to be a general knowledge quiz and we were invited to take part. Being a Brit and a common participant in the ‘pub quizzes’ of my homeland, I could not pass up on this opportunity. Throughout our meal and on the subsequent sides we ordered to pick at whilst we had our heads down in quiz mode, staff would come by to check in and chat about the dishes we were sampling. As a foodie, I greatly appreciated a bit of culinary chatter — namely about a homemade ketchup. (Homemade ketchup; need I say more?) Sadly, we only came second in the quiz (surely not a bad feat for an overseas visitor!), but we received a voucher for another free fondue, meaning we are now set for dinner another day. As a note: I don’t often write restaurant reviews, but I felt I had to for the Melting Pot.More

My friend and I went for an early dinner on Fri night so we could go to the drum circle across the street afterwards. She had a chicken panini. It was large but she thought it needed more pesto sauce for flavor. I had an...alpine fondue without the garlic. I enjoyed it but it would have been better without the cold veggies. The dipping items should have been at room temperature. Cold cherry tomatoes and cold apples are not appealing in hot cheese fondue. Afterwards we shared a dark chocolate fondue. The strawberries and bananas luckily were room temperature and good. The fruity pebbles, yuck. We were a little shocked the next day when my friend, who paid, noticed that tips were added to the bill. It's in very small print under the tax on the receipt. The card reader asked for a tip and she gave ANOTHER 25%. The service was not worth 47% tip.More
