The entrance of the Sky Bar starts from the lobby of Ashville's historic Flatiron Bldg where you take a friendly escorted ride up an ornate elevator to the top floor to enjoy the wonderful view that awaits either on the three floor balconies or find your place in one of the inside lounges. The staff here is exceptionally friendly to... More

SkyBar is a 3-level structure--essentially a very extended fire escape--located on the side of The Flatiron Building; you enter the building's lobby on Battery Park Avenue—essentially next door to Chai Pani--and take an old-fashioned elevator (complete with a friendly attendant) up to what I believe is the sixth floor. From there you can walk down to the next two levels.... More

This is the best view of downtown Asheville and the staff was very friendly. The building itself is beautiful and the old elevator adds to the experience. This is a great place to unwind from a day of sightseeing.

We went up to the lounge after dinner and the view was awesome. First the ride up in an old school elevator was fun. Then we spent about 45 min on the outside at the bar. The view was beautiful. We did have to buy at least 1 drink but the drinks were good, too. A nice after dinner drink.... More

We saw this bar while walking on the street and decided we had to visit it. Wonderful ride in an old traditional elevator to the 5th or 6th floor. Walked out on the open air bar and enjoy a cool beverage and the fabulous view. It was a bright sunny day and we had a great time

If your idea of adventure is drinking on a fire escape 8 floors up and you enjoy waiting for drinks then this is for you. Trust me one trip up that horrible elevator was enough for me.

Walking in, it feels like walking into a preserved hotel from the 1920s (which I assume it was), which already sets up great ambience. The elevator is old and has an attendant. I loved the atmosphere here, very nice and scenic as you enjoy a round or two of drinks with your company. There have been few places in Asheville... More

We waited in line to go up and hang out on what amounted to a fire escape. We came up, looked around, and all simultaneously said, "are they serious?" and went straight down (along with another party of 6). I am blown away by the positive reviews on this site, but by all means go and see for yourself. You... More

The historic flatiron build in Asheville NC, has a little hidden gem on its 8th 7th and 6th floor, Skybar is an outside balcony that looks over the blue ridge mountains, you relax as the waiter/bartender comes to you. You should b ready for any weather being it's mainly outside. Great drinks, views and staff enjoyed the visit, thx skybar.

Having never been or even hearing about Sky Bar, we decided to check it out as we walked by one afternoon. Little did we know there was no shade and that we would just be standing on some scaffolding-like surface looking at the tops of buildings and construction. The view beyond that was nice, but you can see that if... More
