Jettie Rae's was ranked highly with Trip Advisor so my wife and I decided to dine there one evening while visiting Asheville. For appetizers, we tried the Gambas Al Ajillo which are red shrimp, garlic, olive oil, preserved lemon and sherry bread. The shrimp were...quite tasty and worth trying. We had the Octopus A La Planxa which consists of octopus and potatoes with smoked paprika. The octopus was cooked perfectly and titillated your tongue. I am not sure how the potatoes added much taste or texture to the dish. The smoked paprika was faintly noticeable. We also had the Crispy Clam Strips. The clams were lightly breaded and had a wonderful seafood taste. We highly recommend this dish. For the main course, I had the Lobster & Shrimp Roll. I have eaten many lobster rolls over the years. I have eaten lobster rolls from food trucks, restaurants and perhaps the best ones in Maine. The lobster and shrimp roll at Jettie Rae's is average at best. It lacks the depth of flavor and punch of a great lobster roll that begs you to savor every bite. I tasted mostly shrimp but little lobster. It was difficult to distinguish the taste of the shrimp from the very small pieces of lobster. My guess is the combination of shrimp and lobster was about four (4) ounces. For $33.00 it was overpriced and I would not recommend it. My wife had the Shrimp Salad. The portion of shrimp was small. Nonetheless, the remoulade sauce on the shrimp definitely sparked my culinary senses and was very good. Service was excellent. The choice of beers and wines are fairly limited. But you can definitely find a beer to meet your taste buds and quench your thirst. You can sit outside on the patio or dine indoors. My overall recommendation is it is worth trying the assorted appetizers on the menu. I would stay away from the Shrimp and Lobster Roll. I have tasted a lobster roll from a food truck that was better tasting and less expensive.More

My partner and I had dinner Wednesday evening. I ordered crab rice, she ordered an oyster and pan-seared turbot. The oyster was excellent. Unfortunately, we found the rest of the food to be too salty and with meager portions of crab and turbot - especially...for the price. Our waiter unenthusiastically answered questions about the food. I'm surprised about the high Trip Advisor ratings. Not recommended.More

Food and cocktails were delicious. Loved that I could easily reserve a table online to eat outside in their nice covered patio area.

I have to say a couple folks said "seafood in the mountains?" but I can attest to the outstanding quality of the fare offered by Jettie Rae's! I started with a dozen of the oysters (mix of 4 types) and every one was so delicious....I especially enjoyed the clams, the cod fillet... Smashing! My server/bartender Mitch was also on point and had great recommendations on libations as well as the menu. The entire restaurant had a great energy and offered outdoor and indoor seating (the bar is great if traveling alone or as a couple) . If you are in the Ashville area and want some amazing fresh seafood I highly recommend this establishment.More

The sign says great oysters and happy service - we literally made a U-turn and walked in. Outstanding selection of southern and Mass. oysters and clams. Creative apps including octopus and steak tartar with an oyster sauce. Thanks to Jacqueline, our server, for great seafood...knowledge and wine suggestions.More

Though getting a reservation can be difficult, it is worth the effort. I had delicious scallops with outstanding roasted potatoes. Service was attentive without being obtrusive.

My wife and I visited Jetti Rae's Oyster House for dinner on 6/9/22. We just sat at the bar and had app after app after app. Everything was fantastic.. Our servers/bartenders Alyssa & Mitch did a fantastic job with everything from drinks to suggesting food...items. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're in or going to visit the Asheville area.More

I appreciated the service attention I received from the two ladies at Section 6 (tending my bar seating). They were both quite competent. However, the highlight of my dinner was the delightful mushrooms that accompanied my entree and not the expected scallops. The mushrooms helped...me lessen the detraction of two undercooked scallops that I reported to the staff (two of the four were properly seared but obviously I am not a fan of what I considered fairly raw, mushy seafood). The choice of Pinot Noir (3 Degrees) was very good although at $15 was perhaps overpriced. Still I will return.More

My wife and I were in Asheville, NC to see the Biltmore Mansion and were told by our neighbor in TX not to miss Jettie Rae’s Oyster House. Boy was he RIGHT! Not only was the food great, but Heather our server was also top...shelf. What a Great Surprise & Wonderful Time. We greatly enjoyed the Crab Binets, Shrimp Cocktail, Chop Salad, and fried Cod.More

Husband and I stopped in thinking we'd have a beverage and some oysters. Well, 2+ hours later we did leave but reluctantly. Tried a half dozen oysters then ordered another dozen. The most perfectly shucked flavorable oysters ever. It's a treat to have no shell...pieces and not have to work on getting them out of the shell! Thanks Alex. Had octopus, perfectly cooked and tender then beef tartare.... OMG the flavors are amazing with an oyster aioli. Think surf and turf! Crazy but we then had clam strips, light, cooked perfectly. Didn't think we needed more but we wanted to try the sauteed greens. Really? Asheville is known for amazing chef's cooking great food but Jettie Rae's? This was a whole new level of food, service and atmosphere. Craft cocktails served by mixologists. Every step from walking in was Amazing. Alyssa and Mitch? Thank you for your major contribution to our great dining experience. Yep, we're going back tomorrow. Still dishes we want to try!More

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary with a dinner on Jettie Rae's Oyster House's covered patio. We have dined at this restaurant many times and always look forward to delicious food and excellent service. This trip was no exception and Hobie and Maggie were...perfect hosts as we enjoyed fresh oysters, crispy clam strips, crab cakes and crab rice. Key lime pie for dessert was a special treat, but the entire meal was thoughtfully executed and tasty. We are already looking forward to our next visit!More

First let me say that there is so much truth about southern hospitality and my husband and I experienced it at Jettie Rae’s from the greeting at the host counter (who was from the Bay Area like us) to the bar attendants (shout outs to...Alyssa and Mitch). Everything we were served was top notch. We ordered dozen of a variety of raw oysters and clams. Along with that I ordered the fish and chips which were so delicious. The homemade chips with the blue cheese sauce are a-mazing. My husband ordered the mussels along with collard greens and octopus. For dessert we had the key lime pie. The adult beverages also hit the spot after a long afternoon at the Biltmore. Thank you so much to all of you for making our short visit to Asheville such a pleasant experience. We will be back!!More
