Very interesting, tasty, well-prepared food. Definitely tried Indian food I had never had before. The fish sandwich is a must-get and the salad is excellent. Portions are large!

Just returned from a night out in Asheville, and ate at Chai Pani .It was as good as I had hoped, server was great and food was flavorful and well presented. Well worth a visit.

Specializing in Indian street food, sandwiches and thalis, the food at Chai Pani in Asheville is a unique experience in authentic flavors and atmosphere. We went on Wednesday evening and had a short wait since they don't accept reservations. It was well worth it, though,...as they gave us a choice of a table or sitting at the bar (during warmer weather, there is also more outdoor seating available). We chose the bar, and Sarah (the bartender) was very helpful in navigating their menu and helping us to choose a variety of dishes that were all delicious! We had lamb kheema pav, chicken tikka rolls, aloo tiki chaat (potato fritters over a garbanzo bean stew), and butter chicken thali--and I can't imagine leaving any of those dishes out of a future visit!More

Most expensive dish on menu is $17-18. Two of us shared about 5 different dishes because they all sounded so good, and were. Try the Sev Potato Dani Puri and Sloppy Jai. Out of this world taste combo.

Very poor customer service. I realize that they get busy at lunch. But they waved us off like annoying flies. Told us that we couldn't stand outside their door while we looked at the take out menu. I don't care how good the food is,...I wouldn't want to ever go back to be treated so badly.More

We only waited about 10 minutes as we came in off the plane for a quick snack before dinner the Bhel Puri was very good and Paneer tikka roll was good but the naan was not as warm as it should have been and slightly...soggy.More

I had been wanting to eat here for quite some time and the service and food did not disappoint once I had the opportunity. I love Indian food, but hasn’t had the dish I had before. It was perfectly seasoned and delicious. My friend actually...laughed at me for going on and on about how tasty my meal was!More

There is so much written about this place, and most of it so effusive, that it's almost cursed. For folks who are used to street food in India, or even the food in the large Indian neighbourhoods of Chicago and New York, this is an...American version, and pales in taste. The murals and artwork is lovely though.More

Not worth the hype or wait for average food. We tried to get in on a Thursday night around 8:00 and at that point they were only doing take out. We were told to come back Friday at 11:00 to make sure we get a...table- that’s 30 minutes before they are open. We were seated at 11:30 and ordered about 8 different items off the menu. The food was average. A lot of hype and long lines for average foodMore

When in Asheville you need to eat at Chai Pani. Wonderful Indian cuisine with some new takes on traditional dishes. Lamb burger and Fish wraps were excellent. The kale Fritter app was supper good too. Restaurant is not that large inside with five tables also...available outside. Service was very good. No reservations taken, put your name down early on wait list - took 50 minutes to get table on Friday night- and stroll around the area until they page you.More

I have never really had a long wait. I go multiple times a year; holiday season, summer time.. you should be fine if you're in a group of 5 or less.

When you say "you", you mean the restaurant. "You" need to pose that question to the restaurant, not here.
