This is a favorite whenever i come to Asheville. My hometown does not have an Indian restaurant so this is a looked forward to stop. We came for a late dinner. Got one of the outside tables. Our waitress was good. We had chicken pakoras, matchstick okra fries, boti kabab, vada pav and green mango chaat. Everything was fresh ,... More

This place is so crowded on weekends , we had to wait for nearly an hour before we got the table but it was worth the wait . The food is not very oily or spicy but was full of flavour . We tried Thali ,vada pav, uthapam and okra.. except the curry in the non veg thali everything was... More

Recently visited this place because I saw the food network was coming there. Oh man, I can understand why now. The food is not what I expected from "street food"! It is very classy presentation, high quality stuff that is bursting with flavor. Our entree wait time was maybe 10 minutes in a packed restaurant, and the service was top... More

First of all, I do not care for Indian food but went here with my daughter and family. She chose several items from the menu for us to all share. I have to say it was WONDERFUL ! There was not one item that I did not like. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I have had this on my list and finally went....was so impressed with the flavors and choices. Went for lunch and had the chicken wrap: SO much flavor oozing from it, I'd definately order again. We also had one of the lunch specials. Served on a metal tray with Rice, soup, bread, butter chicken, cabbage salad and cucumber sauce. Was... More

We absolutely loved the food and ambience of this place. This is the real deal. Street food that is commonly eaten across various cities and towns in India. The servers were friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back!

We were happy with our visit and very happy the food at Chai Pani. The food had the right amount of spice for the dishes we ordered. The half hour wait was well worth it. Saturday's are usually busy, so give your name and take a walk around the block and your table will probably be ready by then. There... More

Stop here. Have a small plate. I haven't seen many of these dishes at other Indian places. Most Indian food is flavorful, and this place definitely lives up to that standard and then some!

I don't think it qualifies as "authentic" Indian food. Perhaps a bit Americanized but they pull it off very well. Standouts were the okra fries, chicken pakora and naan w/ chutneys. Servers are knowledgeable and willing to suggest dishes if you're less familiar with Indian food. The line can go out the door but tables turn over relatively quickly.
