My husband and I recently dined at The Admiral for his birthday. We are new to Asheville and had heard many wonderful things about this restaurant. Our dining experience lived up to The Admiral's fantastic reputation. Both the exterior and interior are unassuming and we loved the relaxed atmosphere -which I think makes everyone feel welcome. The space is intimate... More

It's sure not much to look at, but the booths are comfy, the lighting dim, the vibe campy and funky. And the food is to die for! Unfortunately, they are following the trend to menus that require a lot of interpretation. I had to ask our server the definition of quite a few words. Or what role an ingredient played... More

This is how every restaurant experience should be. Great bartender and wait staff, amazing food, great drinks. We couldn't have been happier, and we really enjoyed the ambience. We didn't have a reservation so gladly took seats at the bar. The staff made great recommendations and the food was absolutely superb. I wish I could have gone back during my... More

We had the figs, steak tartar, tuna and the shrimp, which were all very good but nothing truly memorable. I guess this is one of the hazards of having such a high rating on TA -- high expectations are often hard to meet. Our server was very nice, friendly and great at explaining the menu items, so no problems there.... More

For us, everything about our evening was exceptional. The food outstanding, all 7 courses! The service was spot on! Everyone works as a team and the results are obviously reflective of that. Thanks so much, we had a wonderful evening and look forward to another time we are in town.

This restaurant is a gem and has great small plates. They have staples but vary the menu and preps a lot. They have consistent quality. I have eaten there many times and have never been disappointed. I prefer the small plates. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is dive-bar-esque but extremely comfortable and the food is gourmet quality. Need to... More

My husband and I had dinner here on a Friday night after it was recommended to us by a few different friends. Do not be deterred by the restaurant's exterior, or the street it's on—its area is still up and coming and isn't as cute as downtown Asheville. Once inside, you will be blown away. The dining room is warm... More

This is our "go to" place for specials dinners. The food is amazing. Very creative. We've never been disappointed. Their location is very small so call ahead for reservations.

I came here on a double date and all four of us loved it. It is dark and the food is tasty. Wonderful cocktails, and our server (I WISH I remembered his name) was hilarious. He started out not knowing if he should participate in my odd humor, but by the end we were sparing in the most perfect way.... More

I certainly had high expectations given all of the previous reviews. I was sadly disappointed. I ordered the duck adobo and was shocked at how salty the dish was. I had my salt-loving husband try it and he agreed. ..inedible. I sent the dish back. To his credit, the waiter stated that he tried the sauce and said a mistake... More
