Wow, what a place! The food is just amazing, so full of flavour - the shrimp burrito bowl I had was to die for! A big shout out to our server Michael - he made us feel welcome and was so cheerful, it really set...the tone for our whole evening. Go. Eat. Enjoy!More
What a great experience!!! Margaritas were on point, queso was yum & my sons carnitas cooked to perfection! Server was amazing & super helpful
Their food is made with fresh ingredients. Staff is attentive and friendly. Really enjoyed our meals. If we come back to Asheville we would eat here again.
Nice evening with kids. All enjoyed their meal . fancier than a cheap local Mexican. Great tacos, burrito bowl and beers.
People in Asheville have dont know what good food is suppose to taste like. I have no idea why people are giving over 1 star to this restaurant. I have never been so disappointed in my life after eating ther. The food tastes low quality....For the price that they charge, is a crime. The 12 dollar guacamole has no flavor, you cant even taste any lime, and the portion is for 1 person. If i had the power to shut this restaurant down, I would. What a jokeMore
The food was good but not great. It just didn’t sit well with me. It was strange because you could kind of tell the food is usually better. Waitstaff was great. Presentation good. For example we had a salsa sampler with the verde salsa. It...had gone sour to the point where we couldn’t eat it. Stuff happens and I’m not gonna knock them too bad but it was just “off” when I went.More
I ordered some nachos for delivery. They were ice cold and had no cheese whatsoever. Just pitiful really. It is hard to screw up a nacho but they did it. Plus, with the delivery charge, these nachos cost over $30. Threw them out. Might as...well rip the money up in advance.More
We found this place via a back ally that leads to their very nice terrace. Great nachos. Delicious enchilada. Very friendly staff.
We wandered in here on a whim and we were so glad we did! The margarita flight and salsa options were so interesting and tasty! The staff was friendly and helpful.
We had lunch here recently sitting out on the back patio which was a very charming spot on a sunny day. We ordered guacamole and chips, which was excellent and plentiful. I ordered a salad with vegan chicken and it was exceptionally tasty -- my...husband and son both had the fish tacos and were equally impressed. We all had the house margaritas and they were great, too. Service was five star -- we had both Haley and Mike and they both did a great job. Will definitely be back!More
Asheville is home to some outstanding Mexican food, particularly for a city of relatively small size. One restaurant I think is a tad overlooked in this space is @mountainmadreavl at 13 Walnut Street. My son and I dropped in for lunch the other day and...I was reminded of how much I adore this place! 🌮 Both our lunches were vibrant and wonderfully fresh. Luke loved the vegan tacos, and my burrito bowl was slammin’! It was gorgeous to behold and came packing a big wallop of complex, beautifully complimentary flavors, accented perfectly with salsa verde and crema. I especially appreciated that @noevilfoods chicken was offered as a protein choice. 🌮 One more thing y’all, you GOTTA try this queso dip. TBH, I’ve never had a queso I didn’t like, 🤷♂️ but holy cow, this one was next-level on richness and depth of flavor, to include a tangy kick from a sprinkle of cotija on top.More
Very nice inside decor, plus outdoor seating both in front of the restaurant and on the back patio. Chips & salsa starter, gazpacho, 2 entrees, a beer, and a coke for $45. Portions are huge! I should’ve passed on either the chips or the gazpacho....Definitely not Mexican fast food - more like fine Mexican dining. Everything was delicious and our server was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.More
So tasty and smells 💯💯! I recommend the pork belly taco, and the quesadilla is a great choice for kids and grown ups alike! Amazing service and delicious food make for an excellent experience at this cute restaurant!! Allison was our server and did the...BEST job! This restaurant is a great pic and deserves all five stars!!More
We drove from Tampa, FL to Asheville on a Saturday. Once we checked in to our hotel we looked for a place to grab dinner. We found Mountain Madre on Yelp and headed right over. When we arrived, the place was packed, so we knew...this place had to be good, They told us the waiting time is 45 minutes. We drove 11 hours and were beat, but since the atmosphere was lively and the menu had good vegetarian options, we decided to wait. Our table was ready in 20 minutes and we were seated on the front patio. The weather was nice and slightly breezy, but comfortable. Our waiter Dan was great in recommending items for us. The food comes out quickly! The portions are large and are very inexpensive. This place is located downtown and centrally located to parking.More
