Greenlife is one of my favorite places to food shop in Asheville. Beginning with the in-town location which attracts every type of person and making it a great place to people watch. Call me shallow but people watching is a sport and we all do it! Why not do it at a place that has great produce, local meats and... More

Taking exit 5B off 240 just north of downtown Asheville, Greenlife Grocery is nestled just up on the left - if you get to Trader Joes and Harris Teeter, you've gone too far north. It has a local earthy vibe. The hot bar is not as big as most Whole Food stores and choices were a little more eclectic, but... More

Greenlife is still a good place to shop for groceries and is still very popular with Ashevillians. But, somehow, some of the soul of the place was lost when it was sold two or three years to Whole Foods. It retained its old Greenlife name, but a lot of other things changed., most notably the staff attitude. Plus, there's a... More

We went here looking for fresh baked sourdough bread naturally leavened with natural yeast and found it! This grocery store has all that most 'greenies' would wish for including a great selection of pre-prepared salads, pickles, Asian treats, cheeses, meats, wines and much much more. Good friendly service too.

This is a store that in the past would have merited five stars, but now only merits three. Am I the only one who misses the old Greenlife back before Whole Foods took it over? Their coffee was much better in the past as were their baked goods. The ginger molasses cookies are now often overbaked, so instead of being... More

We especially love their wide selection of cheeses. But the produce is absolutely the freshest and the employees are extremely helpful.

This was the Whole Foods Grocery before Whole Foods came to Asheville. A human scale grocery with a great prepared foods section, body care, beer and wine. If you're planning a picnic in the mountains stop by and load up on healthy choices.

What a fascinating clean and nice grocery store which is now owned and operated by Whole Foods Markets. The assortment of healthy selections is invigorating and truly makes shopping a delight.

We like Greelife although we stray to the new Whole Food Location. We still like the staff and patrons at Greenlife.
