Great time and good food. Chef was entertaining and invited us to participate during our dinning. Had all of use talking. In this style dinning there is nothing worse than being at a table where no one talks to each other, the chef holds the...cards to get people to have a good time.More

We wanted just Sushi while in Asheville for the evening. So we went to Ichiban, and was seated at the Sushi bar. The food and service was amazing! Highly recommended!

We decided to give this quaint restaurant a try. Were pleasantly surprised at the amount of food each of us was served. Each of our orders were very tasty and filling. If you leave here hungry, it's your fault!

It was ok. No sear on the steak and overall very salty. I’m not a big salt eater but normally can eat out without issue. Don’t love the mandatory tip either.

Our family of four went and sit at the grill side. The young man put on quite a show as he prepared our food. The service was great the so was the food.

We ate here as the First Watch had just been built but not open yet and we were hangry. Wait to be seated was a little more than the 15 minutes they quoted. Once seated and we settled on our entrees, food came out on...a decent time frame. I had the lunch bento box with shrimp tempura, veggies tempura, white rice, orange slices, and a veggie spring roll. It was filling and normally Japanese or Chinese does not fill me up. My daughter and husband had green tea. My husband had sushi 🍣 and my daughter had beef nagamaki. Expensive lunch but good especially when you are hangry.More

This would’ve been at best an average experience if it weren’t for the bill. The food was quite expensive, the mandatory added 18% gratuity was over the top, which leads me to post a poor review for the steakhouse. We will not be back.

Good sushi, friendly staff. Enjoyed our dinner. Would go again. Clean, pretty fast. I would rerun. It was a short walk from our hotel and worth the visit

Terrible service experience tonight, at Ichiban. Called at 4 PM to book a reservation for around 7 PM. Was told that all reservation times slots are full. Okay, I get that, since I called same day. Was told by the person on the phone that...the restaurant has plenty of walk in seating available and held open. I said okay, so if we come at like 6 PM we should be fine, and the person said absolutely. At 5:45, I called against to check and was told by the person on the phone that it was a 10 minute wait. Got to the restaurant and was put on the wait list for 35 minutes. The host apologized, and said they got a “last minute rush”. You know what avoids those last minute rushes? RESERVATIONS - which you said were all full! AND THEN they want you to wait in the car! They took phone number, and said they would text you so please go out to your car. Of course we didn’t do that. We found a great restaurant in DT Asheville to patronize instead. We visit Asheville often and will never come this Ichiban location. Way too many dining choices out there to support.More

The food is really good here but the service is very poor. This is likely due to the 18% tip being added to the bill so there is no need to provide decent service. The restaurant is not providing menus and wants you to look...up their menu on your phone. Social distancing was pretty much nonexistent. They'd have one space left between the parties but all eight of the tables were filled at one point of the evening so there were too many people inside to meet the state requirements. Dart was the cook and put on an amazing performance and the food quality was top notch. I ordered the shrimp and filet. It came with fried rice, vegetables, broth soup and a salad. But the service was horrendous. I should have listened to the other reviews. Jessica B was the waitress and had to ask for the drinks to be repeated as she was either very forgetful or not writing them down. She even got my refill wrong after asking if my tea was sweet or unsweet. Then when it was time for boxes for the leftovers, she asked if I wanted a box and I told her yes, and I waited and waited and waited. At some point she brought them to the other side of the table but never brought mine. Eventually (at least 30 minutes later) I asked the busboy as it was clear she was never going to bring the box and didn't care. She was friendly but just not good at waitressing.More

So the food was good. That was the only thing good. We made a reservation for 5 for my son's 8th birthday. We were seated for our reservation time. Our waitress was not as attentive as we would have liked. We had to ask for...things multiple times. Also, we weren't told that their menu was posted at the door for us to take a picture of, then look while at the table. After that, they seated a party DIRECTLY next to us, definitely not social distancing. We had to scrunch together to make some space between us and this other party. This was followed by the most boring hibachi show ever. Our chef did not do anything for the show, aside from the onion volcano. He spent the whole time talking about his unemployment with the people seated next to us. No acknowledgement of the birthday or anything. Then, they add an 18% tip to ALL parties. But, they don't tell you that either. You have to go back two weeks into their Facebook posts to find it. It's not on their website either. Asking to speak to a manager, none came, so I asked again on the way out and was told, yes, I asked and they said they were busy. Finally speaking to one, we got nothing but lame apologies and an almost complete lack of care. In these days, if you're going to spend your money out, spend it somewhere else. Somewhere worth it.More
