The W Cafe is a Gunnison tradition, but that was our last visit. The service was fine. The atmosphere was traditional cafe. The food was very basic, nothing eventful, not notable at all. We tried the green chile breakfast burrito, not spicy, not interesting. No reason to return. and below average

The French Toast is made out of a diagonally sliced baguette so one slice is the size of 2 pieces of sandwich bread. Keep that in mind when ordering. It was yummy as was the plate sized blueberry pancake.

My husband and I came here for breakfast on our way back to Denver from Crested Butte. We had to wait a bit for a table but didn't mind, took that as a good sign for the food to come. Once we were seated, it took about 10 minutes before our waitress came to our table with just 1 menu... More

Traveling through the first time around and was taken to "The W" by a friend who had eaten there before. He was right... The breakfast was one that if you leave hungry, it is your own fault! Be sure to go there if you are ever traveling through Gunnison... You will leave with a happy tummy!

Café from a bygone era...booths, knotty pine walls, friendly staff. Best French toast ever-thick slices of french bread, cream, cinnamon. Divine...... Loved our morning here

This was a locals diner and we loved it. On main street and we liked it so much we ate here twice though there were other good options. Reasonable prices and great diner menu. Breakfast served all day!

This place had the feel of where locals come to eat on a regular basis. Reliably consistant in serving large portions of really good food. Biscuits and gravy, southwestern omelettes or spinach & feta ones, great eggs Benedict... all good. Have only been here for breakfast, and want to try other meals.

Stopped here for brunch on our way out of Gunnison on July 4. There was a line of people waiting to get in (as expected) but the two parties who were on the list before us apparently bolted, so we were seated in about 5-10 minutes. The food portions were extremely generous and had that home-cooked feel. Service was super... More

We always enjoy our time at the W... but a word of caution, it's only open till 2 and can be crowded so be patient. Omelets are good, and their hash browns are excellent.
