Noisy as heck. Can’t hear yourself think or have a conversation. Come to eat. Service seems good. Food is good and portions good size.

Me and my family make sure to stop here regularly. The food is great, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere (although a bit loud) is quite pleasant. From the start, I want to say that the “Man Candy” (pork belly with jalapeño jelly and...buttered toast) is arguably the best appetizer in Beaumont. If you come to J Wilson’s, this is certainly a must-try! I actually get two orders of the Man Candy for my entire meal sometimes—it’s that good! Another personal preference is the “Grown Man Grilled Cheese”. You can add a meat of your choice to it. I prefer to add the Man Candy. You won’t be disappointed. 😁 What is my favorite dish? Ah, I’m glad you asked. I have an easy answer. My favorite dish, without a doubt, is the “Spinach and Grits”. (It’s only served at lunchtime, so come early!) It boasts of a delicious bed of grits and spinach, topped with several grilled shrimp and an egg cooked to your preference. The grits are a bit bland, so be sure to add some salt and pepper for some added flavor. Voilà! There you have it! A picture-perfect meal of spinach and grits! Be sure to add this place to your bucket list. You won’t regret it. Oh, and don’t forget to order the Man Candy!More
Llegamos aquí como “pit-stop” en un viaje Houston - Nueva Orleans. El lugar tenía buena pinta, así que decidimos comer aquí. ¡No decepcionó! 100% recomendado. We came here as a pit stop on a Houston - New Orleans trip. The place looked good so we decided to eat here. It did not disappoint! To start, I ordered the Man-Candy (smoked pork belly mixed with habanero jelly), delicious, as well as the Hamburger Steak Stack (Two six-ounce hamburger steaks stacked and loaded with jalapeños and cheddar cheese, topped with mushroom sauce) , also delicious. My family ordered a hamburger, a flat bread (pizza) and a salad, all delicious too. Price-wise it was $89, Considering that there are five of us in my family, it seemed like an excellent price. I would return here without hesitation. 100% recommended.More
A local restaurant with amazing food. I really enjoyed the local food. The Man Candy was just amazing! Don't miss the Bread Pudding
I am glad i came to this place for dinner.. it was nice atmosphere in the restaurant.. staff was very nice and food was delicious.. thanks to the manager at the motel6 where i was staying for the recommendation.
Had a good meal here while on a family vacation. I recommend the pickles, nachos and flatbreads. The catfish poy boy was delicious!
We drove in from Houston on business and decided to do dinner here. We were pleased with the food and the service. The menu offers a good variety.
We wereon our way home from our anniversary/New Years trip from Galveston and the wife said she was hungry. I Goggled places that have brunch and numerous came up. J Wilson was one of them and I was reading reviews and meun and told her...it looks like it may be good. So we stopped and ordered. I had biscuits and gray with sausage and eggs. Wife had Pecan Waffles and Chicken. We ordered a pitcher of Mimosas, $15!. Or a single is $3! Food was amazing as were the drinks. A little into our meal, our server, Brandis, brought us some hashbrowns and said we may wanna try them. Look different than any I had seen. But I tell you, amazing. We could have made a meal just out of those. They were almost like a caserole with cheese, onions, and other things not sure what. Nevertheless, higly recommend this place. Service was also impectable. Brandis is a really great server and you can tell she enjoys pleasing her customers. Thanks for the expersience J Wilson. We will definately make the trip from Lake Charles to go back one weekend.More
Extensive selection of draft beers, ales and stouts that is constantly rotating. We had the Fried asparagus with crab and cream sauce as an appetizer. Chef’s Burger and the Grown Man’s Grilled Cheese with pork to follow. Jeremy was our server who was very attentive...and made great suggestions on the entrées. We will be back.More
Went there for the first time over a year ago and was really disappointed. Food was bland and service was really lacking. Went with a friend today and totally different. Man candy is fantastic. Got the chef burger and it was one of the best...burgers I've ever had. Service was fast and attentive. Last time must have been bad day or something. Glad bmt has another nice locally owned restaurant that's also good!More
Absolutely phenomenal! I've lived in Beaumont for 22 years, and there has never been a restaurant quite as good as J. Wilson's! Everything is FRESH! They make everything there, including the bread, from scratch! I keep finding new things to love there, as their menu...is always changing! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for GREAT food! My favorites are their brunch skillet and the stuffed chicken breast. Absolutely delicious!More
New menu brought us back to J Wilson’s!! The food is great and service is excellent! It has been a very busy & hopping place the last two times we were dining there! The oyster nachos are a must and we love the creamer spinach....I live the stuffed chicken as well! Great desserts to top off your meal and their wine prices are very good!! Haven’t had a bad entree yet!! Jeff has been our waiter and he makes the whole experience fun!More
Went here last night for the first time. Great bar/restaurant. Friendliest bartenders and incredibly friendly clientele. Locally owned and locally supported. Great food. Man candy pork belly with habanero sauce was incredible.
J wilsons is one of the best local restaurants in town. Wait staff is always friendly. Menu could be changed up a bit though. The manager with the red beard needs to go, very unfriendly.
This is a really nice place that does good food well but the acoustics make it a very loud place to eat! Nice bar area for a drink, booths or tables to eat at. Service is good , menu pretty much always the same but...there is a wing night which is delicious.More
