We were staying at Cedar Pass Cabins in the Park for 2 nights. Ate there first night(Terrible with a capital T). Second night here…Saturday noon, By reservation as they only have 2 booths and a table or two. The 2 ladies were as nice as...could be. It was salad, prime rib and baked potato. One choice only. Salad consisted of iceberg lettuce and 3 tomato chunks. 3 dressing choices. The prime rib was generous in size with a side of aus ju. It was Heavily salted on the outside, way too much for our palettes. Baked potatoes came with butter and sour cream from a packet. Food was hot. Many flies…so many that they have fly swatters near the tables. The food was just alright. We left much of the meat as it was so salty. About $30.00 a plate plus the tips we left them. This is a gas station and convenience store as well. One of your options near the Park.More

A good meal at a gas station? Really??? Yes!!! Really! Friendly proprietor seems to thrive on feeding and chatting with locals and visitors, Ditto for the cook who dished up the best chicken steak we ever ate.

We stopped by to pick up snacks and drinks since we were staying 2 nights in the park nearby and decided to come back for supper that evening. We had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy plus a roll. It was fabulous!...It's definitely enough food for two people or save half for breakfast the next day! The gals there were fun and friendly! Highly recommended! Follow them on Facebook to see what's being served each day.More

We'd read other reviews and thought we knew what to expect. We enjoyed meeting Sue and her granddaughter. The Friday night meal was very simple. A lettuce-only salad. Country-fried steak with gravy over mashed potatoes. Soft drinks from the cooler. The steak was yummy, and...the portions, expansive. The two of us are good eaters but could've definitely split the order. The price was higher than what I expected, so maybe that would've been a good idea. :)More

We were staying in Badlands NP during COVID. The park restaurant was only offering take out and they closed at 7:45 pm. The closest town is Interior, SD just a few miles away. We stopped at the Cowboy Corner on our way into the park....Got gas and wandered into the restaurant/gift shop/grocery store. I asked if they had a menu. The lady gave me a funny look and said, well, I only offer one thing and it's what ever I am making that day. Today it's roast beef. I asked how late they were open, she said until 9 pm, I said thank you very much, I'm sure we'll be back! We got checked into our cabin then did a quick drive about to see the park. We were getting hungry and the park restaurant was closing so we headed to the Cowboy Counter for some of that roast beef. Imagine our disappointment when we got there and were told they were sold out. Well, this was during Sturgis, so those bikers ate up all the roast beef. So, we bought some bagels, ham, cheese, and chips and went back to out cabin to make "dinner." Well, the next day we were a little smarter and made it into town for an early dinner. Again, roast beef was on the menu and boy was it good. We sat out at the picnic tables, enjoyed our roast beef sandwiches and a couple of beers. Chatted with the owner, her niece, and granddaughter. If you are ever in Interior, SD, I highly recommend you stop at the Cowboy Corner for a bite and some nice conversation with locals!! https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g60729-d4802503-r766845575-Cowboy_Corner-Interior_South_Dakota.html#More

these are some the best people in America. Lost a battery while riding to badlands, these people kept me fed, hydrated, and even brought their own motorcycle up to see if their battery would work. Hell, when that didn't work out, even offered to take...me to Rapid City to get a battery..Much Thanks to making a bad day and enjoyable experience, and reminding me there are still GREAT people out there. 5 stars ++++More

Stopped here for gas (pretty sure it's the only option). The pumps are definitely Old School. Not electronic. Can't pay there. Went inside to pay only to find that they don't even have monitoring - so they need you to tell them what the price...was. I knew # gallons but that wasn't enough. Had to walk back outside with the attrendant to get is straight. Kind of fun in a nostalgic way but also a bit of a pain.More

We stopped for breakfast about 7:30 one morning because the Cedar Pass Restaurant wasn't open yet, and were offered hot biscuits with gravy with a smile. It's a gas station with a convenience store and a few tables with friendly people hanging out there. They...serve lunch every day and dinner on weekends, but that didn't fit our schedule so we didn't check it out, though we would have. There aren't many options at this end of the park.More

Our primary goal for being in the area was to visit the awesome Badlands National Park. We camped about 6 miles from the park entrance. The first afternoon we hiked 9 miles on a very hot day. On the way back to our campground we...came across the Cowboy Corner. It was perfect for us - we picked from their good selection of sandwiches and cold drinks. The lady on duty was super friendly and was very helpful in giving us directions to other sights in the area. We stopped in the next morning at 6:40 a.m. and got hot coffee and a snack to go. The same lady was there and gave us really good directions to avoid the heavier traffic.More

We stayed at the Badlands and read a review of this place. It is a gas station that only serves it's dinner menu on Fridays and Saturdays. ONE thing, chicken fried steak on Friday, prime ribs on Saturday. We enjoyed the chicken fried steak (never...had it before, so we aren't sure if it was the best). But I guess it was the BEST chicken fried steak we ever had. The people are lovely and the atmosphere is perfect.More

I just stopped for gas here. It was nearing dark and I pulled in. The attendant was very friendly. If you are staying in the badlands at one of the campgrounds this is a good place to get gas and groceries. You don't have to...drive to the highway or Wall, SD to fill up.More
