This is a good place in east Hartford. We did have to wait for a long time to be served. The food was good and the 6oz filet was great and the sides are of good variety.

Nice dinner after work on a Tuesday evening? Sunday brunch? Just a drink at the bar? J. Gilbert's fits the bill. The kitchen handles meat and fish dishes equally well, getting "medium rare" perfect every time and offering some of the best crab cakes in the area. What keeps my neighbors and I coming back is the flexibility: Want a... More
An excellent, dependable steakhouse restaurant with terrific selection of seafood, salads and sides. Menu features combo options and fare for full course meals to desert or a quick bite. Wine and beer menu is excellent w/ many by the glass options. Full bar is a local's after work favorite and usually very crowded. Restaurant is dark w/ booth and table... More
This was not my first time here, but it was the most disappointing visit. The drinks were very good and the calamari appetizer was fine. My BF and I both ordered the Steak and Wedge Salad. He added the Shrimp as well. Both of us were surprised at how small the steak portion was. On top of that, they were... More
I have been to the restaurant several times in the past month. We always sit in the bar area and have bar food. Drinks are strong. Service has only been okay. The service has improved as we are now recognized. Charcuterie and sliders are very good.
This is the best little neighborhood restaurant around Tysons. The wood fired steaks are absolutely delicious. We really enjoy the ambiance as well. The wine list is small but well stocked. A great place for a family gathering or a quiet dinner for two.
To get a table, go early on weekends, make a reservation or stop in for lunch – J Gilbert's consistently draws a big crowd. The food is delicious and the atmosphere and inviting. Various offerings at reasonable prices.

The burrata and bresaole appetizer was lovely, but the crab cake was almost entirely unseasoned, the mushroom risotto was crunchy and the mashed potatoes were almost gelatinous. The crust on our cheesecake was inedible due to sogginess. For... More
We went with four of our grandchildren. We loved it!. Good omelettes, roast beef, oysters, shrimps, smoked salmon! Fabulous desserts. Excellent service. Great price. What else can I say? Oh complimentary valet service.......
