Stopped in for dinner. Very attentive wait staff. Salads were very fresh and varied. Great pizza. Large number of beer selections.

It wouldn't take much to move this (and, I suppose, the whole chain) from mediocre to great. It's nice they help out dogs. This location was also quite dog friendly (you get a bowl with water for your pooch). They also have a great beer selection and the service is above average -- attentive and friendly. However, the menu is... More

Had lunch with a friend and we ordered subs. The buns were fresh and flavorful and the meat and cheese ingredients were likewise top notch. The selection of beers was good. Both craft and popular brands and pale ale and pilsners through dark beers.

Great place for a casual business lunch. Pretty extensive menu focusing on sandwiches, pizza, and salad. I had the National with Italian fries. It was delicious. It is a combination of roast beef, turkey, and bacon. The service was quick and friendly which is really appreciated during the lunch hour.

Found their website when I was researching for our DC trip and knew it was a must try. They have an extensive menu of sandwiches, appetizers, and pizza. I'm so sad it so far from Georgia because the food was decently priced and delicious. We tried the Dog Collars (aka onion rings) for an appetizer. They were thinly slice and... More

My personal favorite is the "the Phoenix." It's in a pita wrap, with mozzarella cheese, lettuce, and chicken. It looks odd, but tastes amazing every time. Great beer selection as well. Waffle fries excellent as well. Be sure to plan a jog or bike ride after..

This place is really good. I went out to eat with my boyfriend and staff were friendly and nice. Our food was delicious, it came out really fast and you can't beat the prices

First visit to The Lost Dog Cafe but I seriously suspect it won't be the last either for me or the rest of the family. Located neatly at the end of the strip mall with outside eating available and 2 dining areas inside (the back room is a bit quieter) the Lost Dog is a funky and fun option offering... More

We ate here with a large group (12) and they were accommodating to this. The menu had a lot of options (something for vegetarians and gluten free eaters). They had plenty of tables inside and some seating outside. Dogs are allowed at the outside tables! The only reason I gave a 4 instead of a 5 is because the service... More

Ordered delivery late one night to our hotel room (via OrderUp/Grubhub) and was very pleased with what came! The onion rings had a horseradish sauce as well as a ranch. If you don't like wimpy onion rings, then it's probably best to only order them at the restaurant. The pizza we ordered - I forget which one, but we added... More

Description
The Lost Dog Café has been serving up great pizza, hot sandwiches and beer from around the world in Arlington's Westover neighborhood since 1985. Well known as a place to get great food at a great price, the café also serves up a hefty slice of compassion with each pizza. Café owners Ross Underwood and Pam McAlwee have been rescuing stray dogs and cats almost as long as they have been in business and the effort continues. Since 2001, Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation has saved the lives of over 18,000 dogs and cats, helping them connect with loving families and forever homes. In May 2009, long time employees of the original Westover location, Jim and Mike Barnes, Wes Clough and Michael Danner opened additional locations South Arlington, Virginia in May 2009, Mclean, Virginia in January 2011 and Dunn Loring, Virginia in the summer of 2012. The latest addition to the Lost Dog Café franchise family is Alexandria, Virginia (opened in December 2015), owned and operated by franchise owner Pam McAlwee's cousin Matt Sisk, also a past employee at the original Westover location.
