We heard about this place through a local who raved about it and so looked forward to a special prime rib dinner. Knowing that some restaurants in town didn't want people to crowd into the lobby I called and asked if they would allow a...reservation or honor call ahead seating but was told it was first come, first served and asked party size which was four and was told they would have not issue seating us immediately after we arrived ten minutes later. We were told it would be 15 minutes until we could be seated and we were the first of about 5 groups of 4 or more who crowded into their small entry area, completely unable to socially distance. Imagine our complete dismay when the party of 5 who entered behind us were all lacking masks and the hostess said nothing to them...even though there was a sign on the door that masks were required. Obviously the health of their patrons was not as important as getting people in through the door. We were seated after 20 minutes in a room somewhat apart from the more-crowded front dining room. I was next to a back door that had a terrible draft coming from behind the door trim and so had to put my jacket back on to cut the breeze somewhat. Two of us ordered the prime rib and two ordered from the regular menu. Everyone was slightly disappointed with their meal. The prime rib was overcooked and one of us had more waste and grissle on their beef than they had lean...most of the 12 ounce portion was not edible. The portion of "cowboy corn" was less than a 1/4 cup of plain canned corn! Why bother? The other items served, beans was a slightly larger portion. The only thing that was outstanding was the "Indian Fry Bread" which was great. Everything else was average or below. They did try to go through the motions of giving the illusion of sanitation by wiping tabletops and other items on the table but failed to wipe the table edges or backs of chairs that prior patrons would have had to touch to sit and to get up. All in all this was an unsatisfactory experience and the crowding they allowed in the entry gave us all the impression we should have ordered in to stay safe. The State of Utah has a mask mandate issued by the governor a few days ago. Most places in town would give unmasked patrons a mask at the door if they arrived without one but this place seemed to just ignore those who entered without masks when they should have been turned away for breaking the law. .More

Little place with home cooked meals. Just had the prime rib. The temperature was perfect, the meat juicy and the service outstanding, ask for Majorie! The sides are good especially the mashed potatoes and gravy. The fry bread was delicious especially if you try with...honey as they suggest!More

We have eaten here on several occasions. We have never had an experience this bad. All previous trips we had great food & service. This trip was terrible, the mashed potatoes were cold on all four meals. The price on the menu was less than what...we were charged. To me that is false advertisment and illegal. The excuse was that covid raised their prices, if that is the case then the menus need to be changed regardless if it costs money. Over charging patrons could cost more, less business!!!More

Great place little south of town, so not super crowded which is a plus. Good home cooking and tried their fry bread which was very tasty.

Husband and I enjoyed our meal. The blue cheese dressing was great on a very good salad. Steak tender and rich taste. The fried bread, oh my gosh, could make a meal of it. My husband had the steak salad and really enjoyed it. Service...was attentive, but not overly so.More

WoW , after reading so many positive reviews We were in for a poor experience !! It starts out that after taking our order, the server does not bring our salads, when I ask her as she brings our entree she says it’s because they...are to busy. And acts as if she is shocked by my comments. My wife asked for gravy “on the side” well that didn’t happen. I asked prior to being seated if they have Rare prime rib. I was told , yes we do. When my PR came it was medium, I asked to have rare, she went back and got me a medium rare piece that was OK at best. Not to tender and not that tasty avg piece of meat at most, maybe select instead of choice, ? Idk for sure. The other thing was she didn’t ask what size cut I wanted. As it turned out 12oz is what I got at $27.99 kinda high for 12 oz of decent PR with a plain Jane no tablecloth paper napkin kinda presentation IMO. They did remove the salad price after presentation of a check with no reduction. I told her I didn’t come here for a discount but don’t charge me for what I did not receive! All and all it was a hassle the food was ok the Chilli beans were not for me. Had to ask for drink refills. If you go I hope you have a much better experience.More

When I used Tripadvisor’s safety measures filter for restaurants in Moab, the only one that popped up was Susie’s Branding Iron. So we put it at the top of our list for dining. When we walked in the hostess, wearing a mask, made a point...to mention that she would seat us socially distanced from other diners. So far so good. But when our waiter came to take our drinks order he exclaimed, “oh I forgot my mask! I’ll have to get it,” and we expected him to return wearing a mask. Nope. He brought our drinks, took our dinner order, and brought our food and check all without a mask. In fact he was also serving a party of 8 without a mask. We saw them walk in and get seated at a separate part of the dining room, and we could see him serving plates to that section. What a disappointment it was to see that an establishment claiming to observe the virus safety measures allows a waiter to ignore one of the main protocols. The food was satisfactory; onion rings were crunchy and really good; the prime rib with the side orders were adequate; the chef even split our 16 oz prime rib and all the sides without charging extra, and the waiter was very attentive. Although I considered docking one star down to 2 stars for this restaurant, I felt it would be unfair to all the other staff members who respectfully wore a mask. I hope someone doesn’t catch Covid as a result of one waiter’s recklessness.More

I am a gourmet cook...Very hard to please! My husband and I just enjoyed one of the most perfect meals we have ever experienced. We had two appetizers, two entrees and dessert. Everything we ate was a 10!!! Moab has many great restaurants, but we...will return to this establishment before leaving the area. Ask for Tammy. She was excellent: Courteous, efficient, and professional. She has been with this restaurant since it's inception in 1989. Don't miss this amazing place to dine! You will thank me!More

South of town, this place is right out of the 50's. Friendly service, large menu of homemade goodies. The fresh french fries alone are worth the stop. I had the hot roast beef with gravy over Texas toast and fires. Delicious. Spouse had the BLT...and raved about it. Salads were crispy lettuce and sweet ripe tomatoes. All good.More
