Had seen this place the night before while we were walking. I was a little taken back back that there would be $3 up-charge for brisket. Isn't that one of the basic meats in a smokehouse?? The beer selection was a bit limited. The meats and sides were tasty. Seems to be a room area inside and out. Also a little surprise that they pop up 15% and up tips selection when they basically bring your food to the table and you never see them again. Oh, not great and not bad.

I found the food OK but I’m not a huge fan of their pricing scheme. When you order a platter, it allows you to get 2 meats “from the pit”. But you have to read carefully because brisket and ribs (which are “from the pit”) are $3 additional each. So what starts out as a $17 plate for two meats can end up a $23 plate for two meats. I think brisket and ribs are the best choices and I didn’t notice the $3 up charge each until it was too late. THE $3 up charge isn’t listed in the “pit” selection sign. Just in the Platter sign. $17 for a single person to eat BBQ is sort of ok. $23 for a single plate is a lot IMO. The food was decent, OK. I’m from the south so have a pretty high standard when it comes to BBQ. This didn’t quite meet it but came close.

It's BBQ for the masses, kind of bland, even with the sauces. The potato salad was more mashed potato salad, served up using a ice cream spoon. The hushpuppy were horrible and the beans were bland. Price was average for the area, and the food would appeal to young children because it was not spicy and bland. It filled the hole of hunger

The evening started with the lady taking our order being extremely rude. The menu on the board is very disingenuous. Ordering 2 pit meats at $18, it does not say those pit meats only include pulled meats, brisket and tri tip ups the price to $24. The menu says 2 sides 2 sauces. Not sure where ranch dressing for your salad is considered a BBQ sauce. You order, get your own drinks, they bring the food to.your table. $24 for a meat dinner that you are expected to eat with plastic silverware. The restaurant was loud and so cold your dinner was cold before you could eat it. We would have been better off eating outside under the salamanders. I have never felt the need to negatively critique a restaurant but tonight's dinner put me there. Though the food was good. We are locals, it was the first and last time we will eat there..

Tried to order via phone during Covid; left on hold for 10 minutes then they just hung up. Walked over to the restaurant and stood in line with others to place an order; watched while they hung up on other callers. Also watched while some guy totally just standing around in the kitchen kept pulling his Covid mask down BELOW his nose. Almost walked but we had already placed an order to go, (which adds a mandatory 18% "gratuity"!). Our order was left on the pick up counter for over 11 measured minutes before somebody bagged it and called our our name. Asked for confirmation of "house" BBQ sauce to our bag, was assured that they "always put BBQ sauce in to-go orders." Neglected to confirm before returning to hotel room and found no sauce at all. Pulled pork by itself was bland and not even warm after a 2 minute walk back to our room. Cole slaw was watery and french fries were soggy. Never going back...

Spitfire rating of 3 because of the following. Environment extremely dull. No warmth. A few pictures on the wall with a battery operated tealight on the all metal table. Chairs all metal as well and uncomfortable. Meals I ordered the 2 meat platter with NC pork and a brisket. Total with $3.00 upcharge, for the brisket, was $20.00. BBQ not bad, but piled on the plate. Not much of a presentation, just piled together. Could have separated with the pickled vegetables. Cole Slaw was bland at best. Vinegar based, but not much of that. House sauce ok but the vinegar base was well pretty much vinegar. Staff friendly, but I don't think they knew much about the product. The girl who took our order answered our questions sort of. I told her I knew NC BBQ as I was from the south around that area. She said she was from south as well and gave us an attempt at a ya'll after that. When paying the screen asks for an optional tip which I added 15% to the bill. Why? I ask myself now. The only thing they do is bring you the platter. All else is serve yourself and they ask you bus your own table. All in all BBQ was ok, service ok, at best and sterile environment. Would not recommend eating there, but instead maby the bar area for a beer and game of pool. A plus, which we did not get to utilize, was the top tier outdoor seating. I now have eaten at the Spitfire and Blue Pig. Blue Pig I rated 4 out of 5 in a previous review. Spend your money there on a meal and try out the upper deck, at the Spitfire, for a relaxing outdoor beverage.

Got platter, not a lot of meat and hush puppy was dry and inedible. Ribs were funky seasoned, and I threw away the potato salad and beans. In fact, I threw the ribs, hush puppy, potato salad and beans away. Only thing good was the pulled pork and grits that my wife ordered. $60 down the drain, a bag of pork skins and a can of beanee weenees would have been 10x better than this place.

The parking lot seemed small for the building; however, we just parked across the street in a town lot. Unfortunately, we had to sit outside due to social distancing as there were no tables available inside. There was one heater on the large patio and it was almost out of propane. The person who cleaned the table so we could sit down said she would have someone replace the tank and no one ever did while we were there. The food luckily made up for the cold air. Tasty flavors in every bite. Being from NC, we enjoy trying BBQ in different areas of the country and I would recommend the flavors here!

Having relatives in TX, I eat a lot of quality BBQ on my trips back there and I'll tell you what...this isn't even comparable to BBQ chains like Rudy's in Texas, much less the stellar locations, like Black's, Kruez, Smitty's County Line, Hard Eight and on and on and on. Our group had ribs, pulled pork and brisket. The pulled pork was tender but lacked flavor, the brisket was the worst I've had in a long time and the ribs were just okay. The selection of BBQ sauce options was "weird" but maybe that's because it's "North Carolina Style" BBQ. I had their margarita and it was just...BAAAAAAD!!!! I will say the fries were excellent and the mac n' cheese was pretty good. Once we got to another town on our trip, we had BBQ the 1st night at a chain restaurant (Famous Dave's) and it was far superior to Spitfire.

Came here to see the Arches National Park, but we didn't get there early enough so it was temporarily closed. We stumbled into Moab about 11:00am to wait for the park to open later in the afternoon. My wife and I walked down the Main Street and there was the usual fare which didn't appeal to us. We then smelled the BBQ which was one block off the Main Hwy, but it wouldn't open for another hour. We decided to wait and thank goodness we did. What a great place to eat real bbq. We ordered the full rack of ribs and the brisket. The ribs were fantastic and cooked with the perfect smoked flavor. You know it's a great bbq when they don't smother it with sauce. The sauce that was available at the table house, mustard, hot and vinegar were all great. The brisket was perfect and melted in your mouth. Since we've both been on a keto/carnivore diet for 2 1/2 years we bypassed all the sides. The service was great and the person who saw us at 11:00am (Craig, owner) actually came and delivered the ribs and brisket himself. He took the time to share his passion of cooking bbq and a bit of the history of the place. It was fast service, clean and comfortable. There is a separate bar area where they have TV's and live music. The restaurant side was very family friendly. These are the types of restaurants we need to keep in business and go way out of our way to support or this country will end up with blah copy and paste franchise food places. Well done.

BBQ is a meal the whole family can always agree to, so we were excited to visit after a day of hiking. Line was out the door when pulled up, and after watching the ordering process, it seemed pretty clear that the line was due to the need to explain the menu up charges, not a packed house. There is an extra $3 for brisket or tri-tip plates. I saw this explained to 2 groups in front of us (counter ordering). After asking we were told you get 1/3 lbs. of each meat on the entrees, so if your group wants the upcharge meat it's a better deal to get the "by the pound" for $23 for the brisket. Okay that's pricing...as for taste...we had the brisket and it was nicely smoked and moiste, but the bark surprisingly was not very flavorful. The PO Boy was very good, although it could have either used a smaller bun or more shrimp. Sides were a waste...mac and cheese, beans, and fries were all disappointing.

If you order a 2 or 3 From The Pitt expect to get an “up charge” if you want meat on it. I don’t understand why but the prices don’t cover the basic meats so it gets a little expensive The food is good. My daughter loved the brisket. Mac and cheese was good. Sausage is good and spicy.

A very delicious barbeque place in Moab. Very high prices, especially when you see the very small servings. It escapes me why a restaurant that charges such high prices cannot have you leaving the place feeling full. I know that the cost of meat is high, but they could easily make their sides much larger at little or no expense. This way, you could sample the BBQ and fill up on the sides and feel like you got a good feed for your money.

We had a BBQ bowl and a 1 person platter with grits and a salad. Both Chicken. I would say the platter is more bang for the buck, more meat, more grits. The bowl is good and nice, but a smaller portion and only 1$ difference in price. Beers are good, several on draft and around $5. You order the food at the counter, tap your drinks and even before you are back on your chair the food is served. High quality and very tasty. Free condiments (5 sauces). Nice ambiance. Wi-Fi code on request (it is fast though). Anyway. Good place to get a quick dinner.

If you love BBQ, you'll like this place. The mac n cheese is delightful. However, we were disappointed in the rest of our take out meal of pulled pork, brisket, beans, and ribs. Meh. It's fine. It hit the spot, but there was really nothing special or unique about the flavors. I was hoping for more and have better BBQ in my travels.
