This a great place to try if you want meat and vegetables but the menu has a wide range of other offerings, as well. We loved the food. Much better than fast food.

Quaint, cordial and relaxing environment. Great Southern food delivered very fast. Potato salad was so good we ordered extra to take home.
Wish we could say it was great but lunch fell short on our visit. Vegetables were bland. My fried liver dinner was bleeding on the plate with several raw inside. One exception was the cornbread, it was warm & excellent in flavor.
I was really hoping Granny Bee's would be that classic mom and pops place for breakfast that, all of us travelers are all ways looking for. I hate to say it but Granny Bee's breakfast was the worst breakfast I have ever had. The eggs...were over cooked to the point I did not eat them, the biscuits were premade and hard as a rock, the country ham was tougher then leather....but the fried potatoes were good and the water was cold. So there are two positive things ......my friend had to hunt the server down to get the potatoes and a refill on the water........STAY AWAY!!!!!!!More
Was in Appomattox over Christmas week. Stopped in for dinner and enjoyed our meals and talking with a local family dining there. Very attentive service and pleasant experience.
Had dinner here and had to come back for breakfast the next day cause the food and service were great.
We were glad to find them open on a Sunday afternoon. It is clearly a local favorite. Meals were substantial. Large quantities and attentive staff.
The food brought me back to my grandmother’s cooking! Stopped by for lunch. The special was pork tenderloin. Loved the warm fresh roll. Everything was up to par. Would definitely stop by again if in the area. Prices were extremely reasonable.
I took my Grandma 5 years ago and didn't have a great experience, but thought we'd try it again upon visiting the area recently. On a Friday night, we originally chose Mexican, but it was overly crowded so we decided to go here. There was...parking right out front, which is more convenient for our toddler. We noticed they have a salad bar, which we didn't try. I looked up the menu before we arrived so there was no wasted time in ordering. I selected the Granny Bee's Special which is a 6 oz ribeye steak with grilled shrimp. Online the price is $17.95. Be advised they've raised the price to $19.99. My two sides were a baked potato and green beans. My husband ordered the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and green beans and we ordered a grilled cheese for our son, which was not on the dinner menu. You get rolls with your meal. It came out steaming. My husband didn't care for the bread, but I thought it was good (I don't usually eat bread so that might color my perception). Service was incredibly fast. I've never seen such a thin steak in my life, but steaks come in a variety of thickness and the flavor was acceptable and so was the texture. The shrimp were smaller, but I was impressed by the flavoring. The potato had plentiful butter and sour cream and the beans tasted homemade. All in all, I enjoyed my meal. My husband did too, although the mashed potatoes seemed instant to him. Honestly, I've never been in an affordable country restaurant that had real mashed potatoes, so that wasn't a shock. They have real iced tea, while some country restaurants serve instant (please ask and never accept instant). I have been told they have a good breakfast. We would probably visit again while in the area. I don't care for Confederate art, which adorns the walls, but there is a very cute child's drawing framed on the wall I'd love to buy if it were for sale.More
It's not a fancy place, but maybe the best hamburger steak we have had! Prior to this The Roanoker was my favorite but this was so good -must have been ground round at least! Hot yeast rolls while waiting for the meal. Yum! Generous serving...of sides. Friendly service. Just a nice experience for a lunch in Appomattox. Lots of options on the menu and reasonable prices.More
This place is worth stopping by !!! We had the old school country breakfast and omelets. Tremendous service with hot coffee. We liked it so much, we bought 2 Granny Bee coffee mugs. Stop by if you are in the area !!
Ate lunch there and ordered their BLT. They did not skimp on the bacon. One of the best BLTs I have had that I did not make myself. I feel that the value for the price was great. I would eat there again if in...the area.More
We visited Granny Bee's whilst passing through Appomattox as we were touring historical sites in Virginia. The restaurant is a small restaurant that offers lovely southern home-cooked dishes. I had the vegetable plate that consisted of coleslaw, stewed tomatoes, and green beans. I found my...food to be delicious. My husband had the BLT and said it was average-good. This is a cozy restaurant that makes you feel "at home." The servers are friendly. If in the area this restaurant offers good food at a great price.More
Noice. Was authentic southern food. Had the fried fish with corn pudding and rice pudding. Very cheap and worth the money.
Went there for Sunday lunch. Had the cube steak, lima beans, and green beens. The veggies were very good, the steak ok. Hot rolls were delicous. Service was quick and friendly. Easy to get to from the national park and a cute downtown area.
