The service was very fast, our server was a real professional and the food was excellent. Very reasonable price compared to Northern VA./ Fairfax County.

Upon entering the restaurant, it became clear that it hasn't quite selected its identity yet. Entering from the street, you come into the bar area, where you can smell the smoke from years past. There is a small dining room off the bar, which is where we opted to eat. You could see into the large dinner dining area, as... More

Everything about this restaurant was incredible. The service was top notch - friendly, responsive, and accommodating. Our waitress really took great care of us. The food was outstanding. I ate everything they put in front of me until there were just empty dishes - crab dip, french onion soup, shrimp and scallop sautee, and crab cakes. I love to eat... More

Stopped here on the way to Skyline Drive when the restaurant in the park was closed. The bartender was a bit cranky at first when he saw 8 bikers walk in, but then loosened up when he realized we were just normal people. He was super friendly with a great West Virginian accent. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere... More

My wife and I had lunch here at the recommendation of the people at the national park information center. It like the restaurants in the park historical area is primarily a burger type pub. It is about a mile from the visitor's center. This place also serves dinner in a dinning room with table clothes if you come in the... More

Receved excellent service for a group of nine. Arrived about 8:30PM and were promptly seated to a table that accommodated us. Drink orders promptly taken and delivered quickly. About half of the party ordered the two crab cakes dinner. No complaints and very well received. One in the party ordered the prime rib which was excellent as well. Entrees were... More

Very expensive for what you get. The bartender is never friendly and ignores customers for long periods of time. I have been here several times and it has yet to be a good experience. The crab cakes are the only item I've had that weren't terrible and they are very average and overpriced. Wait staff always seems half trained. I... More

We were late coming in from a long, slow rafting trip on the Shenandoah and most of the restaurants were closing at 9 PM. Our B&B was just a block away from th Anvil so we made it along with our friends. The atmosphere was great. It was a nice and quiet evening with only a few other couples in... More

Food and drinks were good, and service was great. Lots of free parking across street. Restaurant was quiet the night we ate, but lots of room for groups.

Great little restaurant in town. Just a short walk from the historic town, this great restaurant has fantastic drinks and good food, if a bit expensive. Limited menu but what they offer is very tasty
