This is the best coffee shop in the area! Coffee is great, the staff is friendly, and the shop itself has plenty of room. This is a great place to sit and chat with friends and family or get some homework/work done any time of...More

I had a refreshing iced tea after walking here from Jefferson Rock. Had a nice chat with the guy manning the cafe, and he also recommended a blueberry crumble triangle (not sure of the exact name) to take home for breakfast the next day. Delicious!...More

I've been extactic since Guide Shack Cafe opened in town. Coming from DC where there's a coffee shop on every corner, I was used to going in wherever but it was utilitarian, requiring few words (I drink black coffee so my order rarely requires follow...More

Sorry, Starbucks, but you don't even rate when it comes to this coffee shop. You can sit and enjoy your coffee or get it to go. Lots of things to choose from!

As a caffeine fiend, I was so grateful to find this place open at 6:30am. Barrista Brian was extremely friendly. The place also hosted a benefit dinner during my stay in town and it benefitted the Appalachian Trail. Loved everything about it -- decor, people,...More

Wonderful café with amazing coffee- stopped on a cold winter morning for a latte and some great banana bread passing through from Winchester to DC. We didn't take advantage of the climbing area- kids would love it! The focus is on products from veterans where...More

The Guide Shack was the perfect start to our day. The coffee was great and Chris was full of local knowledge and ideas for things to do. It's a Veteran-owned/operated business that sells goods (whole bean coffee and baked goods) from other Veteran-owned business.
