My son and I were hungry and in a hurry and ate here. Too bad for us: The sushi was warm, the tempura was cold and limp, AND I realized they overcharged me by at least $25. My fault for not checking the bill before I signed the credit card slip. STAY AWAY!!!

The portion of the ramen was huge but worse ever. The most important element of ramen is the broth, the broth of this store is terrible. The store is very dirty, so opposite of most Japanese image. The service was terrible. When you have ramen the soup has to be hot. Meaning as soon as they are out you need... More

I was looking for ramen (I'm ALWAYS looking for Ramen!) for lunch after a morning stint at Moscone and this place came up Thirlllist for best Ramen in San Fran (one of them anyway) and it was close. I went and luckily grabbed the last open seat available. The ramen options for broth are Miso, Soy and Salt -- no... More

This place was nothing out of the ordinary. It is a tiny place. Nobody answers the phone so we walked in without a reservation. The first attempt we were there for, we had to wait so long we decided to try another place. The main area had seating for like, 12 persons. It seemed to have a basement to accommodate... More

A heaping bowl of spicy ramen from Katana-ya really hits the spot after a day of shopping, sight seeing or just hanging out. The place is tiny, but it's also open all day, which made it the perfect stop at 4:30 in the afternoon. I tried the spicy tofu miso ramen which was bountiful and delicious. Soothes the soul and... Loved the ramen! I would definitely recommend the spicy miso ramen. The places fills up though, so you may want to get there early.

Thoroughly enjoyed a California Roll and a wonderful bowl of Ramen. Not only was the food delicious but a great value. Sake is available a reasonable prices. Service was quick and polite. Located not far from Union Square.

This is local goodness. No it won't be some little touristy spot where they make you feel warm and fuzzy. That is what the food is for. The ramen bowls are a great portion And the sushi hits the spot. Not for every kid but my 7 year old has a new found respect for ramen done right. Get in.... More

apparently we were the first table ever seated in the new basement seating area adjacent to the micro-restaurant on Geary. In a classic 70's "Japanese restaurant" setting, hewn wood, red lanterns, they were playing asian techno rap very loud. No one knew who was doing what. Waitress struggled with English but got the order right. My teens & I loved... More

I ordered Katana-ya Ramen only and it was delicious. Meat, egg and vegetables, very tasty. Casual restaurant, good price.
